Guernsey was the location for the first Channel Islands' event for the Great British Skinny Dip (GBSD) and was a terrific success. Fifty dippers, mostly women, enjoyed an exhilarating time at L’Ancresse Bay, raising £5,000 in the process - and are now eagerly exploring the possibility of a monthly nude swim on the island. Money was raised for two local charities - Pink Ladies (Breast Cancer) and Mug (Testicular Cancer) as well as the GBSD's British Heart Foundation. Interest in th

Did you know that British Naturism operates through six regions across the whole of the UK? Everyone who joins BN – with the exception of overseas members – is automatically allocated to one of the regions. Each region is managed by volunteers who administer what is formally known as the regional association. They oversee organisation of events in the region – creating lots of opportunities to practise Naturism close to home – as well as local campaigning, recruiting new members, supporting

On Sunday 5th September British Naturism members in Northern Ireland organised the first ever official Skinny Dip in NI. Between 11am and 3pm a total of 80 - 100 people gathered on the 2 miles of golden sand beach at Portstewart Strand and stripped off and ran, walked and boldly marched into the tide to help raise over £1700 for the British Heart Foundation (NI). For over half this was their first ever encounter with Social Nudity in a public place and they all thoroughly enjoyed the experi

Whether you’re a seasoned skinny dipper or a nudie-newbie, why not experience the freedom of swimming in the buff? And don't pay attention to the 'wisdom' that says you must have the perfect body or everyone will s

Anecdotally and through many online posts, conversations, feedback and discussions, it’s clear that many of us have been delighted to have the community of Naturists around us, giving us the opportunity to be active, to meet others and share experiences. This has been particularly true during lockdown, when life turned upside down and the activity and society that we took for granted all but disappeared. Has Naturism and the Naturist community contributed to our mental health? Three Naturists te

Thirty-seven nudies braved 16-degree water Sunday evening (22 August) for the second Marbury Park Swimming Pool Great British Skinny Dip! A few weeks ago, Marbury pool had never hosted a costume-free swim - now it has hosted two. It's testament to how - rather like skinny-dipping individuals - once tried, you can't wait to do it again, despite all the fears and hesitations beforehand. The pool, set in beautiful grounds near Northwich, Cheshire, has two diving boards which, as one newbie dip

In 1990 I left home. I started being naked at home in the evenings and sleeping naked. Sadly the man I lived with didn't like my body shape when I put on weight and he took every opportunity to let me know. This gave me body image issues. My first step to Naturism was recognising it was HIS issue. I worked on my self-belief until I found the courage to divorce him in 2017, after 34 years together. After the divorce I developed a strong friendship with someone and that friend helped me re

And don't listen to conventional thought that says 'nude is rude', or that swimming naked with others is somehow provocative. Jen writes about the recent BN wine tasting trip to Hanwell Vineyard, near Melton Mowbray When you’re thinking about buying wine, what’s your go to region/country? France? New Zealand? I have to admit, I’m partial to a glass or two and there are certain things I look out for on a bottle. At Uni my friend and I would buy wine based on the story on the label but I like to think that over the past twenty years I’ve moved on from there. So anyway, when my sister spotted a wine tasting even

Recent sightings of groups of naked men taking a walk in Sherwood Forest – and a report of someone exposing himself to a passing woman cyclist – have sparked news items in the Times, Daily Mail and other publications and on BBC Radio Nottingham. More worryingly, there is now a petition via Change.org asking the RSPB and Nottinghamshire County Council to “stop promoting nudity at Sherwood Forest.” According to the petitioner, nudists can be seen “every day, in good weather,” and that the pol

We're excited to welcome back a guest who we thoroughly enjoyed meeting first time round - Laurent Luft. He was an excellent and informative guest when he first appeared on the Forum Live last year and talked about his role as president of the Association des Naturistes de Paris (ANP) and in charge of international relations for the FFN (Fédération Française de Naturisme), but now there are two additional reasons to want to hear what he has to say. Firstly, we'll learn more about the FFN's
