Next Monday (4th July) the Forum Live will actually be live as I'll be 'broadcasting' direct from BN's flagship summer event—and the biggest Naturist festival in the UK—Nudefest, at Thorney Lakes in Somerset. I'll tour the site, showing you the various areas and chat to various people including the organisers, activity/workshop/fitness class hosts and guests to give you an overview of the event and what to expect. There is plenty going on - here's the activity-packed programme Joi

This year has just flown for me! We’ve just passed the Summer Solstice, which means that we have the best daylight, best weather, and longest hours to continue to get in as many Naturist activities in as we can, hopefully whilst the sun shines! The weather has been a little indecisive, shall we say? Please remember water, keep hydrated, sun cream and maybe consider a jumper or rain mac too! Find links to all the events mentioned, below. It’s nearly time for Nudefest. We issued a press

Families have always been at the heart of the Naturist movement in the UK and the other day I saw this clearly demonstrated in some of the heritage photographs of the Sun-Folk Society (now British Naturism: Sunfolk). Naturists often lament the fact that Naturism in the UK is depicted as mainly older men with few women and even fewer young people. So what can we do to change this? If we are to shift the balance to 50:50 males/females and bring in younger people one of the things we must su

We're off on our virtual travels next Monday, 27th June, as we welcome a panel of BN members who own apartments or regularly visit Vera Playa in the Almeria region of southern Spain. We also hope to hear from someone from Vera Playa Club hotel. Vera Playa, as the name suggests, refers principally to the long, sandy nude beach, but a little town has grown up around it, including the hotel, many apartment blocks in 'urbanisations', restaurants, cafés and other entertainment. As you can see fr

The weather is glorious right now, and promises to become even hotter by the weekend - 31 degrees where I am! Who needs to be abroad this week, when we have all this on offer in the UK? Please remember to use sunscreen, reapply, and remember to hydrate frequently! What an amazing week for what has been planned! Find links to all the events mentioned, below. This weekend we have a choice of camping weekends. British Naturism: Sunfolk host our first Pride Weekend, under the theme EveryBO

Dynamic Dunescapes is a fantastic project aimed at restoring sand dunes in England and Wales for the benefit of wildlife, people and communities. It’s a collaboration between National Trust, Natural England and other bodies. Representatives have been frequent guests on The Forum Live. The last Saturday in June has now been established as World Sand Dune Day – and on 25th June, British Naturism’s South West Region and Dynamic Dunescapes are partnering for an event at Studland Beach! Andy Wyman reports... Naked dining in pubs and restaurants, canal trips, museums, gardens, nuclear bunkers and sculpture parks! What would BN's Eastern Region come up with for the Jubilee weekend? Andrew and Kalah made their debuts as event organisers with a cruise on a magnificent Thames barge. This isn’t the sort of thing you get on a canal. It’s a big sea going sailing vessel. We arrived in Maldon, Essex and boarded the splendid Hydrogen, the oldest surviving Thames barge, which was buil

British Naturism has a fantastic job opportunity available - we are looking for an Administrator to join our friendly, welcoming team. British Naturism has an extremely broad portfolio of activities including the organisation of local events, communicating information, and working with the many Naturist clubs around the country. Many of these activities require admin support, and you will work with our amazing team of volunteers and staff to make British Naturism the best it can possibly be.

After a busy double bank holiday weekend last week, a whole work week seems a little harder than usual! t is a good job that there are a lot of dates on the calendar for this week. Find all the links to more details in the list below. Don’t forget that you don’t have to live in a particular region to be able to attend an event there. You’ll find there are plenty of walks planned for this week, including near Ackling Dyke, Salisbury hosted by Natram. Later in the week Natram and BN’s LA

We been blown away by the interest that British Naturism members and other Naturists have shown in the BN shop range since we relaunched in late 2020. The level of sales we generated in 2021 exceeded our expectations, and we hope that people are still enjoying and getting good use of the products they have bought so far. We know from your feedback that you’ve really missed the BN towels which used to be a best seller for us. We’ve been working hard to source a new range of towels which are

BN's online favourites, The Big Quiz and the Pub Chat are taking a well-earned break over the summer months. It's amazing to think we have had over two years of fun and friendship each and every Friday night with both activities but now with the pandemic on the wane and life returning to normality, we have taken the decision to rest for a couple of months and then return reinvigorated on 16th September 2022. Don't forget that there are still plenty of online events - including regular

Following successful evenings in summer 2021, we’re delighted that Sophie and her team at Houghton Lodge will be hosting further Naturist evenings in 2022. It's wonderful when the venues themselves decide to organise nude events! The gardens are a delightful mix of wooded areas, lawns and more formal areas with paths leading down to the river Test. The first event in which the gardens will be open exclusively for Naturists is next Wednesday, June 15th, at 5:30 p.m. and will run through

As we celebrate Pride month, we are all keenly aware that some sectors of society have not always experienced the support and welcome that we would expect in modern society, and that some sectors have experienced quite the opposite. Although British Naturism would never condone any form of discrimination, there is imbalance in the demographic groups that make up our membership. Young adults, parents, women and people of colour are all under-represented compared to national averages, and we hav

Once a quarter, we dedicate a Forum Live session where members meet and ask questions of British Naturism's Executive Committee. The next session will take place on Monday week, the 20th June at 7:30pm. The event is open to all British Naturism members and is expected to last an hour. Questions for the Directors and Executive Committee members on any relevant subject will be welcome. To help us manage the session and to provide the best possible answers we would welcome questions in advance

Happy Bank Holiday weekend and best wishes to Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, Or Queen Elizabeth! To mark her 70 years on the throne, there are some special Platinum Jubilee themed events, this weekend. Nudestock has been taking place all week in Doncaster and will continue this weekend with an afternoon tea in the Green Barn. D

It’s June and my heating is still on. Disappointing, to say the least. Nevertheless, that’s no reason not to shed our clothes and fling ourselves into a pool, lake, sea, lido or some other body of water for the Great British Skinny Dip! Remember, it’s not just about the joys of nude swimming and the chance to introduce hordes of friends, family members and colleagues to Naturism. We also need you to find suitable venues for dips and to host events. Whether you’ve got a venue in mind o

Next Monday (6th June), I will have the pleasure of welcoming a panel of new BN volunteers to the Forum Live. As you will have already seen from this morning's other news story, it's Volunteers' Week, and so such a session is well-timed (on purpose, actually, as I am sure you guessed...) I'll be asking our panellists to talk about their roles and the work they are doing, why they volunteered, what they hope to achieve, and how the organisation and members can support them. We'll also

Volunteers’ Week takes place from the 1 – 7 June every year. It's an opportunity to recognise, thank and celebrate the contribution volunteers make across the UK. Volunteers’ Week 2022 is a time to say thanks. During an exceptionally difficult couple of years, people from all walks of life around the UK have taken the time to volunteer and make a huge difference to their communities – just as they do every year. This is a time for us to come together and thank all volunteers for their in

Nudestock welcomes all naturists this week for a full week of naked caping, stay the week, few days or just book a day pass. This lovely farm in Doncaster transforms into a naked family friendly camping week, which is in the heart of the Yorkshire and East Midlands region. To me it signals the start of the summer and is the warmup event for Nudefest in July. The chance to dust off our tents and camping gear after the winter, and meet up with friends, in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. A lai

Why not spend Saturday 4 June on an original Thames sailing barge? This is the ultimate Jubilee Weekend event! You’ll enjoy a relaxing, clothes-free buffet lunch followed by a 2-hour naked sail from Maldon in Essex, complete with a well-stocked bar. The £55 price includes lunch; drinks are extra. This event is BN member-only due to demand. More here: June 4 - Jubilee Weekend - Thames Sailing Barge – British Naturism (bn.org.uk). For those of you who’ll be in the Kent area the first wee

One issue of great importance to British Naturism – and Naturism more broadly – is how to attract more women. We’re all aware of the need to tackle thorny issues such as body positivity and the fear of being judged, that can dissuade women from joining - and enjoying - a clothes-free lifestyle. To get women talking about all this, Co-ordinator Helen Berriman has launched “Women in Focus.” This series of in-depth interviews delves into questions such as how women decide to get involved in Na

In next Monday's (30th May) The Forum Live session, we'll revisit the nationwide Dynamic Dunescape project, and hear once again from Julia Galbenu , from the National Trust who is the Engagement Officer for the Dynamic Dunescapes Project at Studland Bay. She’ll bring us up to date with a presentation on how things are going and future plans. We also hope to bring in British Naturism volunteers who are working with the Dynamic Dunescapes team and learn more about how YOU can get involved. E

Next Monday’s Forum Live features an opportunity to get to know Jon Williams, one of the Directors of British Naturism. Jon has been vice-Chair of British Naturism for some two and a half years, during which time the Executive Committee has benefited from his skill in chairing its regular meetings. The wider membership will have seen him chairing the AGM too. More recently he has masterminded the development of plans to develop British Naturism: Sunfolk and bring it up to the standard we are a
