  1. Despite the weather, our live events have been extremely popular and so the good news is there are more to come! This weekend enjoy a visit to Jupiter Artland, Edinburgh and our Eastern region beach day at Corton, Suffolk. Our Windermere Woodland weekend (pictured) - sorely missed last year - goes ahead 13 -15 August and you'll find a weekend full of World Naked Bike Rides next weekend with Manchester, London and Brighton, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. That's a busy weekend f
  2. Naturism is all about getting an all over tan. Isn't it? Naturism is about health and well-being, being active and enjoying the great outdoors. Isn't it? We think we do pretty well with our events providing something for everyone, whether they wish to take a breather from life, stretch out in the sun and enjoy relaxing times with friends, old and new, or whether they want to be on the go joining fitness sessions, participating in craft classes, singing and dancing and eagerly scanning
  3. Here we are at the beginning of August, with several successful Great British Skinny Dips under our belts. Despite the uncertainties of the past year, the swims have taken off! With interest in the event growing, several venues have held or are hosting their first GBSD this year. Marbury, which had never hosted a dip before, has already had one and has scheduled a second for later this month. Lenches Lakes is a new venue. Wigton’s first swim this month, will be followed with a second one in

  5. We're excited to welcome back a guest who we thoroughly enjoyed meeting first time round - Laurent Luft. He was an excellent and informative guest when he first appeared on the Forum Live last year and talked about his role as president of the Association des Naturistes de Paris (ANP) and in charge of international relations for the FFN (Fédération Française de Naturisme), but now there are two additional reasons to want to hear what he has to say.  Firstly, we'll learn more about the FFN's

  7. It’s not every day the streets of London are full of naked cyclists - but it is once a year when the World Naked Bike Ride protest comes to town. This environmental campaign has been riding since 2004 and sees thousands of participants in cities around the world. The London ride regularly attracts over 1,000 riders, but that’s small compared with Portland in the USA where they sometimes get over 10,000. According to the WNBR global wiki, there are over 200 cities in 35 countries that have h
  8. The British Naturism/Great British Skinny Dip deities picked a crackin’ day for the North West Great British Skinny Dip on July 17:  Hot, sunny, gentle breeze, and the beautiful white sands of Morfa Dyffryn naturist beach near Barmouth, writes BN member, Dugie Eyton-Hughes. My partner and I had been to this beach before but this was our first BN skinny dip there. In fact, it was our first BN skinny dip… We arrived around 11 a.m. There were quite a few people already baking in the sun,
  9. Summer seems to have finally arrived, with the sun making a more sustained appearance and temperatures heading upward. Perfect weather for skinny-dipping while you support British Naturism’s Great British Skinny Dip and our chosen charity, the British Heart Foundation! Happily, there are several opportunities for getting naked in the next few days.   Today, Tuesday, July 13: Shap Lido - 6:00-8:00 p.m. (Gayle Ave, Shap Penrith, England CA 10 3NS)   Saturday, Ju
  10. G'day! It's great to announce that next week's guest (19th July) on the Forum Live will be Mick Davie, President of the Australian Naturist Federation (ANF) Mick joined the ANF only two years ago because he saw a need and rather than just sitting back and complaining he put his hat in the ring to lend a hand. Mick's background is in road transport, and has had the privilege of driving trucks of all sizes including road trains around the great country of Australia for the past 30 years.
  11. Sadly, it’s the last full day today, but we’re not finished with having fun just yet, and the sun is shining as we wake up to help make it memorable. Guests will choose from (or try to do all) of morning jog, group dog walk, meditation, yoga, morning worship, pétanque, volleyball, molkky, workshops in willow crafting and hula-hooping, live music from Top Hat and Heels, and the Craving, with the big screen beaming live from Wembley. Our massage team are as busy today as they have been all week, T
  12. Europe’s tallest waterslide comes to Nudefest today. In fact, it arrived yesterday and we watched in awe as it was erected, Scary or exhilarating? We’ll find out later…in the same vein, we’ll be thrilled or revolted by the reptile and bug show. Guests looking for something more sedate can enjoy horse and cart rides. More fitness classes and sports and games are planned, including a ’Not a Parkrun’ 5k and a fishing competition. Two more live music acts will round off another busy day…
  13. Nudefest is bathed in sunshine today and we also had our fair share of it yesterday, adding to the warmth there is in being part of this wonderful community. It was change-over day yesterday and we bid farewell to those staying only 3 nights and welcomed those who arrived for the rest of the week. We’re looking forward to another busy day, starting with a not-too-energetic jog around the site and its lakes, Molkky, volleyball, pétanque, three sessions of naked yoga, life drawing and, wait for it
  14. We’re waking up to a brighter day today and looking forward to another amazing day. The Magic Teapot music venue has arrived and guests can enjoy a singsong at any time of the night or day. Our fitness, sports and games sessions are available and there will be a willow workshop, cider brandy tasting, a wine tasting and a photography workshop and then, later, live music from the Wassail Blues Band and a night at the Casino Royale.
  15. We’re waking up to a warmer day here at Nudefest though the clouds still threaten. What they don’t affect is the camaraderie of the Naturist community. There are plenty of activities to enjoy but what we like best of all is meeting each other (socially distanced...) and catching up.  Today we have another helping of sports, games, fitness and well-being sessions. Massage is being offered by five different practitioners across the week. There’s a jewellery making workshop, life drawing, wine
  16. We are pleased to announce the co-option of John Daly as the new Finance Director of British Naturism.  Finance Director is arguably the most important role in the organisation, and the most difficult to fill as it requires very specific skills and qualifications.  Therefore, we are very excited that John has agreed to join the team. John and his wife Liz are members of a number of national federations as they take a very global approach to supporting Naturism.  Their knowledge of different
  17. Over 400 people arrived at the Nudefest site in Somerset yesterday, most of them in bright, hot sunshine. (What's the weather like right now? No comment...) Our annual festival, established in 2007, gets full underway today with a packed programme. Today's highlights include meditation, fitness and yoga sessions, team games and sports, hair braiding and didgeridoo workshops, tutored wine-tasting, fire-side storytelling, and two live music acts. We're also bringing in a video wall for t
  18. Over the last three years, Naturists and British Naturism have been targeted by hate groups looking for the next vulnerable minority to abuse for their amusement.  Both families and seasoned Naturists have felt the impact of antagonism, forcing us to review how we run events to protect the safety of both attendees and venue staff. Naturism has a positive effect on the lives of many individuals.  It has been proven to improve happiness, confidence, mental health, and self-image.  At the same

  20. The Forum Live truly lives up to its name next Monday night, 5th July, as we bring you the 'show' direct from Nudefest in Somerset. The agenda for the evening is as yet unconfirmed, but we hope to bring you a tour of the site including the various venues where activities will take place - Zen, The Pavillion and Cirque, meet the organisers and find out about the line-up and how an event like Nudefest comes together, and chat to some Nudefest guests about their expectations for this fantastic
  21. It's free, unique, independent and for BN members only! The BN Holiday Advice service is run by members for members. Our panel of experts have sailed naked in the Med, camped in California, cruised in the buff in the Caribbean and cycled to Naturist clubs in Great Britain. They have been to Naturist clubs, beaches, hotels and resorts everywhere from New Zealand to the Netherlands, from Mexico to Montenegro and from Austria to Australia.  Today, we are delighted to introduce Sue Rau and
  22. Next week, 28th June, we're delighted to welcome another guest from an overseas Federation, this time FENAIT, Italy. Andrea is the Fenait Secretary, and says, 'Naturism was in my mind since my twenties, but I discovered organised Naturism only in 2009, when I joined my local association (Associazione Naturista Abruzzese). Two years later I was elected as a member of the board; since then I have specialised in Naturist event management. Some years later I was invited to be a member of the fe
  23. If you're keen to get out and enjoy the sunshine as nature intended, there's plenty of opportunity over the next few weeks with Covid-secure events hosted by a variety of people and groups around the country. 24. Have you ever seen a card game which showed off the true diversity of humankind in its natural form? A party game that you could play with people and show them the diversity of the nude form? A party game so easy your kids could join in and learn to accept the nude form, encouraging positive body images as they grow up? That's what TJ, one of the founders of Table Candle, the makers of this card game told BN magazine when we asked him about it. He also told us that the ground-brea
  25. As an apparently sultry weekend beckons, here's some things you might like to know if you are eager to throw off those hot, uncomfortable, unnecessary clothes (bathing costumes included) and enjoy the great weather! During heatwave, we’ve seen the question posed across the media and it’s a bit annoying to Naturists that there is even a suggestion that it might not be. The Sexual Offences Act 2003 was carefully worded to exclude Naturism - it is perfectly ok to take your clothes off to
