We like to bring you news stories of forthcoming events - it spreads the word, encourages more people to book and shows just how vibrant the Naturist scene is in the UK. However - I'm happy to say - there are far too many to promote them all individually and so here is a complete list of all the events happening over just the next couple of weeks and big events taking place later. GBSD at Durley House - have you booked?

The picture was taken at the earlier GBSD at Durley House, Hampshire, in September, writes host and BN member Richard. It is a small private pool with a Hydropool for the really energetic, changing area, showers, toilet and best of all the pool is heated to 30 degrees. There is a large private car park The pool is situated between the village of Lower Upham and Bishops Waltham on the B2177.
The next event is on Sunday 10 November - £10 per person. Details of the venue can be found on durleyhouse.co.uk  What three words for the carpark are stays.kindness.spruced.

Women in Focus podcast - new episode coming this weekend!

Join host Helen Berriman, BN's Women's Officer, for a new episode of the podcast from British Naturism, dedicated to celebrating and empowering women in the Naturist community. Our podcast is created by women for women, although we warmly invite men to join us and listen as well.
In each episode, we delve into insightful conversations, exploring various aspects of Naturism through the lens of womens' experiences. Whether you are a seasoned Naturist, new to the way of life or just intrigued, we aim to educate and inspire. We highlight the experiences, challenges, and triumphs of women in Naturism. Promoting body acceptance and self love, we explore how women across the planet have shed their clothes and freed up their minds, leading them toward a more fulfilling life in all areas; one that no longer keeps them restricted - emotionally, mentally, physically, and in all other ways.
Is most current online naturist content created by older people for older people, with a world view of naturism that younger people simply can't relate to? Lins certainly believes so, which is why ‪Naked Wanderings‬ was born.
In Episode 12 of the Women in Focus podcast from British Naturism, Helen talks to Lins who, along with her partner Nick, formed Naked Wanderings eight years ago, and have since found themselves as the naked voice of a generation. Together they explore what Naturism really is around the globe, and show the online world through their blogs and videos. Helen and Lins talk about this, as well as the Everybody festival, the pressures the corporate world places on womens appearance, the positive impact that the social media age has had on body issues, and much more.

The Forum Live - interviewing Naked Wanderings

Recently we brought you the news that Naturist bloggers Nick and Lins of Naked Wanderings had visited the UK - I'm pleased to report that they will be my guests on next week's The Forum Live (4 November).
We'll talk about their time in England, the making of the three films and their attendance at BN's Every Body festival plus hear about their time at the INF Congress in Mexico and learn about where they will be going next!

Naked Quiz Night in Bournemouth

On a mild October night, forty members and guests arrived to warm greetings from some of the BN SW team and Ed, the owner, and his staff, an event that had been some considerable time in gestation, the idea having  emerged in a chance conversation over a year ago between a couple of members attending the Bournemouth weekend and Ed, the owner of Flirt café-bar, a vibrant and inclusive venue in the centre of town, writes Howard Dymock.
Welcome drinks collected from the bar, the quirky but comfortable seating leant itself to mixing and socialising, perhaps in contrast to slightly more conventional table arrangements at formal naked dining events. Quiz teams formed naturally and conversation flowed freely, as meal orders were efficiently served, before our host opened proceedings. Full credit to Ed for embracing the spirit of the event by stripping off himself, bar a half-apron!
Varied and challenging rounds of quiz questions followed with plenty of head-scratching, sharing of ideas and lively comments. My contribution of a Naturist-themed round proved especially challenging, although in my defence all the answers are on the BN website!
Regular breaks in the quiz gave participants the chance to circulate and chat, whilst refilling glasses or ordering coffees and cake. Ed generously donated a £50 voucher to the winners in a closely-fought but humorous competition. All too soon it was time to grab a group photo as a memory of an enjoyable and novel evening, and one which we hope can become a regular fixture.
A final thank you to Ed and his staff for offering to host a Naturist event, and here’s to the next one!

A Monster of a Skinny-Dip

We're always delighted when non-Naturist organisations run clothes- or costume-free activities and here's another that we're pleased to tell you about.
As part of the very first ten day 'Loch and Land' festival, Visit Inverness Loch Ness are hosting a skinny-dip in Loch Ness as part of the 'Feel Good Finale' on the last day, Sunday 3 November. It's a full morning of activity - with the swim followed by yoga, axe-throwing and archery, and a rural sauna. Sadly, only the dip is nude, but it's a start!
Note that the event is nothing to do with BN, we are merely bringing it to your attention - although we have talked to the organisers about their hosting a Great British Skinny Dip event in 2025.

Go Team BN!

40 swimmers and supporters will be heading to Le Havre in northern France tomorrow for this year's International Naturist Federation Swimming Gala, being hosted by the Fédération Française de Naturisme, says team leader and BN Sports Officer, Ian Munt
I cant wait to catch up with all of our team again and put all our training into practice. Last year, with a smaller team, we took bronze and so are hoping for better this time round!
As well as the competition, the weekend includes social events and an opportunity to meet and spend time with our friends from other Naturist Federations.
Our team was selected from the swimmers at our own UK gala back in the Spring. If you'd like to qualify for 2025's International Gala, please come along next April - booking is now open!

Announcing a new BN Members' Group Holiday!

We are heading back to the lovely Magnolias Natura, located in the south of Gran Canaria with all-year-round sunshine, perfect for Naturism!
Our hosted BN Member breaks are a great way to meet like-minded British Naturism members and treat yourself to an all-important holiday. Our latest break is from Saturday 26th April for seven nights, in a one-bedroom bungalow with breakfast, daily.

Naked Wanderings in the UK!

Globally-renowned Naturist bloggers, Nick and Lins (nakedwanderings.com) recently spent time in the UK and made three films about Naturism and nude activities. They also came to our Every Body festival and wrote a great blog about it. We also presented them with a British Naturism Certificate of Merit for services to Naturism.
British Naturism were delighted to be given the opportunity to be the sponsors for the trip: Nick and Lins have over 100,000 subscribers to their You Tube channels, 27,000 on Facebook, 57,000 on Instagram and an incredible 160,000 on Twitter/X. What a way to spread the word!
Their website is highly recommended as it is full of interesting things including videos and blogs, holiday information and hints and tips for both new and long-term Naturists.

Mexico welcomes 39th INF World Congress!

Hosted by the Mexican Naturist Federation, the 39th World Congress of the International Naturist Federation starts today and runs to 19 October in Zipolite, on the country’s beautiful Pacific coast. BN's International Officer Anne Nisbet is representing British Naturism, and Andrew Welch will be joining the event by video link to deliver presentation on working with the media, tomorrow.
The Congress takes place every two years and is the supreme governing body of the INF-FNI. It allows representatives from all the worldwide Naturist federations to get together for formal and informal discussions – and to chart the INF’s future policy.
Federations can offer proposals in the form of motions and discussion points. Motions will be submitted later in the year, but we already know that one will ask that member federations adopt revised statutes – the governing document on which the INF-FNI is based. Delegates will also elect a president, treasurer and other key positions on the central committee.
An extra day was set aside yesterday for a meeting of EuNat, the European branch of the INF-FNI.
A busy agenda – but delegates will surely take time to enjoy Zipolite’s famous nude beach and local bars and eateries!

Regular readers will remember that in the last mention of our new swim at Withington baths, we referred to how it is looking likely that it would become a regular venue... well, that is looking even more likely now with swim dates reserved at the pool until the end of the year! The Forum Live - Studland Bay

It's one of the UK's most popular beaches used by Naturists, such use going back many decades. BN also works in partnership with landowners the National Trust and other stakeholders to ensure everyone can spend a fabulous day there.
Next Monday's (14 October) Forum Live we'll talk all things Studland with the National Trust's Visitor Operations and Experience Manager Emma Wright, Dorset Coast Forum Officer Elaine Snow, and members of the BN South West team who represent us in matters relating to the beach. We'll talk about the history of the beach and current issues and challenges as well as hear more about the recent survey which many of you have already completed - thanks!

Great Success at the Dorset Museum!

What a huge success it was for British Naturism when we held a naked visit to The Dorset Museum and Art Gallery in Dorchester in September! 45 eager members of British Naturism attended, together with 20 non-members, many of whom who said they would be looking for similar events in the future, writes Keith Bowman.
It all started early in 2024 when member Ed thought the museum would be an ideal venue to hold a private viewing for Naturists - and he couldn’t have been more right. He had visited the museum on many occasions and was always fascinated by the variety of exhibits on display. I contacted the museum to explain our idea and almost immediately they responded positively.  Once a price was agreed, Ed, Neil, another regular museum visitor and friend of Ed, and I got together to discuss the potential for the event.  We divided up the various tasks to make it easier and quicker and then got on with it.
The momentum then increased exponentially with adverts and posters appearing in as many places as possible and almost as soon as tickets were available in the BN Shop they started to sell.  I held discussions with the venue about the logistics of holding such an event and Gaby from the museum could not have been more positive and helpful. Much promotion followed, including via BN’s various platforms and a press release. Well, that was all we needed and the media immediately became interested. By the time the event was completed we had been featured in or on: BBC Radio Solent, BBC Radio Dorset, BBC South TV, BBC website Times Radio, Mail Online, Hello magazine, Dorset Echo and Bournemouth News and Pictures, Channel 4’s Goggle Box and even discussed by the presenters on BBC TV Breakfast Time! ITV’s Good Morning Britain were also in touch and we made arrangements but ultimately that one didn’t happen.
The day finally arrived and once the museum and art gallery had closed to the public and the doors had been locked, all the media present sprang into action, rushing around filming and taking pictures in the various galleries whilst interviewing our willing volunteers in front of the amazing exhibits. Once the media had all they needed they all left by the agreed time and the doors opened to ticket-holders.
They all streamed through the door and checked-in before getting changed ready to wander at will around the museum naked.  We all gathered together in the amazing Victorian Hall to enjoy a small glass of wine.  Neil welcomed everyone and then took a small group on a tour of the museum.  This was an excellent, well prepared, and researched presentation that held the attention of those who took advantage of it.
A fantastic event that was good for the museum and art gallery; good for the participants; and good for Naturism.  Well done and thank you to all taking part!

Women in Focus podcast - new episode out now!

Join host Helen Berriman, BN's Women's Officer, for a new episode of the podcast from British Naturism, dedicated to celebrating and empowering women in the Naturist community. Our podcast is created by women for women, although we warmly invite men to join us and listen as well.
In each episode, we delve into insightful conversations, exploring various aspects of Naturism through the lens of womens' experiences. Promoting body acceptance and self love, we explore how women across the planet have shed their clothes and freed up their minds, leading them toward a more fulfilling life in all areas; one that no longer keeps them restricted - emotionally, mentally, physically, and in all other ways.
In this episode, Helen interviews Karie Jane, businesswoman and proprietor of the Beverley Hills Hotel and Resort in Costa Calma, Fuerteventura. Karie took over the villa after her marriage ended and turned it into a clothing optional hotel. She now lives and works there full time, offering a unique Naturist holiday destination. She talks to Helen about the ladies-only holidays that she runs supported by BN, which are both for seasoned Naturist women looking for something a little different as well as to allow any woman a safe and relaxing way to experience naturism for the first time.

We like to bring you news stories of forthcoming events - it spreads the word, encourages more people to book and shows just how vibrant the Naturist scene is in the UK. Dover Swim - restarts this Sunday!

The Dover Naturist Swim Club organises clothes-free swimming sessions at the Dover Leisure Centre on Sunday evenings from Autumn to Spring. The first one of the season takes place this Sunday 6 October and includes use of the sauna and steam room.

Dover Swim organisers say, 'The pool will have been closed to the public for a gala but our swim goes ahead so if you go to the leisure centre and see a notice saying it’s closed don’t be alarmed, and please spread the word if you know anyone who might be interested, new members can try the swim once before paying the membership fee.
