We like to bring you news stories of forthcoming events - it spreads the word, encourages more people to book and shows just how vibrant the Naturist scene is in the UK. However - I'm happy to say - there are far too many to promote them all individually and so here is a complete list of all the events happening over just the next couple of weeks. Enjoy! And don't forget that we are always looking for reports on great gatherings for the magazine and elsewhere... Boat Trip July 2

Next Monday, 24 July, in the last Forum Live before the summer break, I'll have the pleasure of talking to Nick Mayhew-Smith, recently appointed as British Naturism's Clubs Officer. Nick has a long history in Naturism and BN and, as the author of many books about Naturist places has been a guest on the Forum Live before. On Monday, we'll learn more about the role of Clubs Officer and what Nick hopes to achieve - and how. It can't be a one-man job and so we'll also find out how we all can he

British Naturism is an organisation run by volunteers, supported by a small number of paid staff and consultants and each year members vote for those they wish to see take specific posts. Voting for the 2023 election opened in June and members received information with their copy of BN236 magazine. For the first time in a long time, we have a contested election, reflecting the growing energy and enthusiasm within British Naturism. This is also the first year that Regional Deputy Organisers

‘World Naked Hiking Day takes place in the Northern Hemisphere on the Summer Solstice - June 21st each year. It has grown in popularity over the years and is a great way to promote Naturism and Normalise Nudity,’ writes BN Sports Officer, Ian Munt This year we wanted to put more effort into promoting the day and give as many people as possible an opportunity to walk in Naked in Nature. There were six official walks - in Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, So

Quite often, when I mention my involvement in Naturism to non-nudies (and I do that every chance I get!), the response is, “Oh, I used to/still love to swim naked!” Many of these people, women especially, have fond memories of skinny-dipping as kids or on vacations. One friend recently lamented her failure to strip off for a sea swim while visiting a deserted beach in Scotland. Next time she’s there, she vowed, she won’t miss that chance again (Scottish weather permitting, of course!). Of c

Here's a reminder that our next Naked Heart Walk in partnership with British Heart Foundation takes place this weekend! The Naked Heart Walk programme this summer has been terrific - great locations, hundreds of people, plenty of newcomers - and lots of money raised for charity. It's not too late to book for the walk on the Fonthill estate owned by Lord Margadale who said, 'The British Heart Foundation is a wonderful charity doing amazing things to help fund research into heart disease

At the end of June Buckinghamshire Naturist club Diogenes hosted British Naturism for a day of Miniten and Pickleball. Sixteen BN Members joined me for an introduction and knockabout on the courts. We were greeted by Mike and Lorna from the club who gave us a tour of the beautiful grounds off before we made our way to the four miniten courts and soon we were all playing. After a couple of hours we retired to the sun lawn for lunch and a swim, and enjoyed the British summer - and an ice crea

We're always saying that nudity ought to feature more in mainstream, day to day entertainment... Andrew Mackintosh is an actor (and Naturist) best known for his long-term role as DS Alistair Greig on The Bill. He's also a writer and has recently released a new dramatized podcast based upon a novel he wrote some years ago. “Letter from Helvetica” is a humorous, epistolary novel that takes the form of emails exchanged between Abigail Wesley, a talented young botanist from Surrey who has

Back in 2020, BN was offered a unique and generous opportunity to acquire the Sunfolk Naturist site just outside of St Albans in Hertfordshire. It has been our pleasure and privilege to become custodians of a site which celebrated its 90thanniversary in 2022, and we have been pleased to welcome thousands of BN members and other Naturists to enjoy the site over the last few years At the start of 2023 we started a major project to improve some of the facilities, and to add new facilities for

It's been a blast. A truly wonderful Naturist event in a fantastic atmosphere, whatever the weather might have tried to do. I hope that the daily updates have given anyone who has not yet been to Nudefest, or, indeed, any BN event, a taste of what to expect and to have inspired you to make a booking. The best thing always is the people - we love our community! Everyone is a friend, even if you've never met them before. Although Nudefest comes to an end at midday, it's not quite over,

All good things come to an end, even great, wonderful time-of-your-life things like Nudefest. It's our last full day but we're already looking back on the terrific time we've had. Oh, and the weather was almost too good yesterday, sun screen most definitely needed! (What's it doing today? Hmm, sadly I'd rather you didn't ask...) But whatever the clouds throw at us, it's another day waiting to be enjoyed to the full. There's another chance to join a debate, to take a foraging walk, try your

Apologies that these updates make a meal of the weather - but I’m sure you’ll appreciate how important it is. Yesterday was … lovely! The sight of a few hundred naked bodies - some stretched out, some dancing - listening to the frenetic Old Time Sailors band in the sunshine, with brave souls free falling from a height behind them epitomises what this event is all about. Let’s hope for more of the same today - it’s a relatively cloudless sky as I write this. A fishing competition is underway

As the weather (hopefully!) starts to improve again, beach days right here in the UK start to become more of an option – and the BN Shop is ready to help you show your support for Naturism with our range of beach towels. Available in the BN colours of orange, grey and white they feature a choice of slogans which show your support for Naturism. There’s even one to remind your fellow beach goers that a towel really is ‘everything you need for the beach’. You’ll also find sun hats and wat

It's a hard life partying all day and having to get up the next morning to do it all again! Wednesday was brilliant - entertaining speakers, great discussion sessions, fabulous comedy and music and so much more. And it was warm enough (just!) for us to stay unclothed for most of the day. Today we look forward to another busy schedule - the problem for most guests is fitting it all in! The usual wellness classes are enhanced with the addition of group fitness and Zumba, the circus roll

Oh dear. It happened. After a 2022 with hedge-to-hedge sunshine, yesterday was dire. It rained all day. It was the only thing that was dire, however, we still enjoyed the company of like-minded people for various activities and partied hard in the evening. There's quite a bit of blue sky as I write this and the anoraks of Tuesday have been replaced with bare skin, ready for the day ahead. It's a full programme with a regional chat, craft session and photography workshop, circle dancing and

We didn't see much of the sun that hung enticingly over the site yesterday morning, but the blustery wind and occasional squalls couldn't dampen our spirits! Thanks to the 16-strong volunteer team around 400 new arrivals were successfully pitched, across four separate fields, with or without power depending on requests. We watched with awe as the piano dome was constructed and with relief when the bar opened at 5pm. After a lively 'Forum Live' with a live studio audience, The Amazing Blues

The sun has risen, the morning mist has cleared, the flags are flying, and we are at the dawn of Nudefest 2023! It is already hot in Somerset and the gates are about to open. The schedule is packed throughout the week and we look forward to seeing you all very soon.
