Not long to go now before our next BN members' group holiday takes place in Gran Canaria in late August/early September not far from the amazing sand dunes of Maspalomas (pictured). Find all the details including how to book here!

We like to bring you news stories of forthcoming events - it spreads the word, encourages more people to book and shows just how vibrant the Naturist scene is in the UK. However - I'm happy to say - there are far too many to promote them all individually and so here is a complete list of all the events happening over just the next couple of weeks and big events taking place later. Enjoy! And don't forget that we are always looking for reports on great gatherings for the magazine and elsewhere...

Next week, Monday 1 July, BN's Women's Officer Helen Berriman takes the chair and will talk to Andee Rodgers. Andee is a woman's advocate and creator of the Women One Word (WOW) campaign in the US. She is the Women In Nude Recreation (WINR) chair for the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) an organization that, like BN, protects, promotes, provides and preserves nude recreation. In recent months, she and her husband Tom have visited many US clubs taking the essence of the WOW ca

There are so many fantastic – and downright quirky - Naturist adventures coming up in SANER (Scotland and Northern England Region) that you won’t want to miss any of them! Here’s a reminder. Did you know that, along with BN, the Forth Road bridge is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year? Why not celebrate both milestones in the buff with a 13 July cruise on the Forth? You can preview the bridges here. On 27 July, get your clothes off and your sea-legs on and sail along the Nort

British Naturism: Sunfolk is a five-acre woodland site owned and operated by British Naturism. It’s five minutes from where the M1 and M25 join, just outside of St Albans. It’s perfect for seasoned Naturists and those looking to explore a clothes-free world for the first time. Everyone is welcome! Over the last year or so we have invested hugely in the site and its facilities. Testament to the strength and passion of our community is that some of the finance required and many of the items y

Be in the room where it happens! We're looking for a Minutes Secretary As the Hamilton musical score says, "be in the room where it happens". We are of course referring (in the main) to a virtual room where the BN Executive Committee meets. So why not be at the forefront of what's going on inside BN .... by taking the minutes of Executive Committee meetings? As the Minutes Secretary, you will have experience of minute-taking, committee work and procedures; be well organised and have

All good things come to an end but we certainly went out with a bang. There was a moment yesterday when Nudefest resembled the world’s best summer fête - queues of people at the food stalls, the benches outside the bar filled with chatter, piano music emanating from the Magic Teapot, groups attending talks in marquees, creations being crafted from willow branches, the sauna and hot tub area attracting those who needed some downtime, a gong bath meditation session by the Zen tent, a two-horse-dra

I'm sorry to say that the clouds rolled over in the late afternoon yesterday and it even rained for a short while, but (cliché alert) it didn't dampen our enthusiasm. Most people popped on a cardie but the wonderful activities continued including a large number of walkers on our naked hike and a big contingent visiting a local cider farm. It's not a music festival, but there is plenty of it with recorded, live and acoustic sets happening through the day and late into the night. Numbers were swel

It's a good job that this website doesn't limit the number of words that can be used - there is so much to say! We had another fabulous day in hot sunshine yesterday. There was a time when you'd never read 'sun-cream' and 'Nudefest' in the same sentence, but not now. Sun's up already today too. After our profile was raised on national TV first thing, guests immersed themselves in the activities again yesterday enjoying the relative peace of talks and walks, the exuberance of the holi paint

No Forum Live next week (Monday 24 June) as the team will be taking a well-earned break after the exertions of Nudefest! Back on 1 July...

It was another lovely hot day at Nudefest yesterday with plenty going on and that chilled, community atmosphere was all around. Everyone will have their own highlight, but the crowd of people listening and dancing to Razzomo (we love the way Lucy and James strip off to perform) in the field in the sunshine, the Magic Teapot (we love the way the team strip off to perform) welcoming everyone to listen or to play /sing themselves, and our comedy night in a packed Cirque pavilion raising the rafters

...and the sun shone all day. We all love the activities and our happy community, but, boy, good weather makes it even better! And the site is bathed in sunlight as I write this too! That community spirit was exemplified again yesterday with groups of naked people trying their hand at willow crafting, relaxing in the sun listening to live music from Bud Martin (a two-hour set), buying drinks in the bar, taking advantage of the many food stalls, pushing themselves in the group fitness sessio

What a start! Over 400 guests arrived yesterday, with plenty more to come as the week progresses. Thanks to the volunteer team who checked everyone in, handed out wristbands and made sure everyone was pitched successfully. The bar and catering stalls opened at 5pm and we were off. With the number of people in the Cirque tent and those at home, the Forum Live was one of the most popular ever and we learned all about Nudefest, past and present. The 3 Sixties played toe-tapping numbers and we

...and so it starts, the UK's biggest Naturist event gets underway today. With its origins in 2007 and Cornwall, prompted by a nude visit to the world-famous Eden Project, 2024's festival will be the 18th year of Nudefest (though we missed one year because of lockdown). Hundreds of guests will descend through the day (myself included) on Thorney Lakes and get settled. The bar and food stalls are open from 5pm and the Forum Live will 'broadcast' live in the early evening, followed by a perfo

The Forum Live hits the road! Next Monday's session will come from Thorney Lakes Camping and Caravan Park, the location for British Naturism's (and the UK's) biggest Naturist festival! I'll be chatting to Nudefest's organiser, BN's event manager Mark Walsh about the event and what's in store for guests in 2024. If the weather behaves we'll also do a tour of the site and show off the various venues where the huge range of activities will take place. Perhaps some guests will be wiling to spea

Busy? Yeah, me too. Little time to check this website for news from your favourite Naturist organisation? I can see some of you nodding. Well, have you signed up for our weekly ezine? There are also monthly newsletters to opt for, covering news and updates from your local area, and if you like, you can sign up to them all! It'

A PERSONAL POINT OF VIEW I took on the role of Volunteering Officer because I fundamentally believed that Naturism is beneficial to all and there was so much more that could be done, if only we had the volunteers that could make things happen. I have recently been looking back over the last 60 years of BN for an article to be published in the summer issue of the BN Magazine. It has been an interesting voyage of discovery with so many great initiatives started and so many volunteers in

GREAT REGIONAL TEAMS Let us not forget the tremendous work undertaken by our Regional Teams, all of whom rely on volunteers. Our Regional Teams are at the heart of British Naturism, organising an array of activities and events, promoting naturism and looking after the interests of members. In addition to admin roles and looking after clubs and members in each region, there are a wide variety of regional events taking place, as well as two regional meetings each year. Local walks, nak

THANKING OUR VOLUNTEERS The contribution of volunteers is often unseen and unrecognised by many, visible only through the incredible impact of their volunteering. So taking the time during Volunteers’ Week to recognise, celebrate and thank our incredible volunteers for all they contribute to our community, as well as the voluntary sector and society as a whole, has never been more important. Volunteers’ Week is a great opportunity to thank our volunteers. If you would like to leave a
