It is now almost five years since COVID struck and we launched our program of online events. At a time when we were unexpectedly forced into our homes, online interactions made a real difference to many people’s lives and are one of the things that British Naturism can be most proud of. Five years on, people’s lives have changed again and it is important that British Naturism adapts to keep up. Online fitness is regularly reviewed and has been through several generations, but our commun

Sunfolk closed its gates on the summer season last Friday. But there wasn’t a silence there over the weekend, far from it! Volunteers started arriving that evening for the start of the first volunteer working parties of the winter season. This weekend was about clearing overgrown vegetation, leaf, and drainage ditch clearance and a general tidy up. The laurels were pruned down around the perimeter of all the lawns and a large fire burned ferociously for most of the day. There were lots of

I’ve always been an open-minded person, writes Caroline. I’d heard about Naturism and thought, “Why not? Life is too short.”, but never felt brave enough. After a death in my family an old friend, Jack, reached out to me. We quickly became an item, and he mentioned he enjoyed the freedom of walking around naked and had attended a naked wedding. I was immediately intrigued. He suggested we could go to the Naturist beach in Studland, and so we did! As soon as I got there, I got undressed immediate

Got a group of friends you want to spend time with but stuck for somewhere to go over the winter? Here’s a great new idea - we’re turning our newly-developed site into a BareBnB (see what we did there?)! Selected dates are available from now until the end of March. You’ll take the whole site for either a three-night option (arrival either Monday or Thursday) or a six-night option (arrival Monday) and have full use of the five-acre woodland site including: Three Double Glamping P

We like to bring you news stories of forthcoming events - it spreads the word, encourages more people to book and shows just how vibrant the Naturist scene is in the UK. However - I'm happy to say - there are far too many to promote them all individually and so here is a complete list of all the events happening over just the next couple of weeks and big events taking place later. Enjoy! And don't forget that we are always looking for reports on great gatherings for the magazine and elsewhere...

It’s #TrusteesWeek! The time of year when we celebrate the amazing contribution made by trustees for their charities, not-for-profit and voluntary organisations and recognise the difference they make. Trustees’ Week is an annual event held during November (this year 4-8 November 2024) to showcase the great work people do as trustees, directors and committee members and provide opportunities for everyone to get involved and make a difference. It’s a time to celebrate the achievements o

Many people don’t even know they know a Naturist, and assume that we are still that fringe minority on the far edges of society. In fact, we are their next-door neighbours, their work colleagues, the people on the next table in the pub, in the aeroplane seats in the row in front, in the car hire queue behind them at the airport … everywhere. We completely understand the fear of adverse reactions, but want to encourage you to help Naturism in the UK to grow and become normal. While it remains hid

Each year, we invite nominations for the Merit Awards, which recognise exceptional contributions to British Naturism or Naturism as a whole. These contributions may be sustained over time or more focused and recent, but they all share one common factor: they are exceptional. This year, we awarded five Merit Awards, four of which were presented at the AGM, and one at the EveryBody Festival. Let us applaud these contributors and thank them for their invaluable work. On a mild October night, forty members and guests arrived to warm greetings from some of the BN SW team and Ed, the owner, and his staff, an event that had been some considerable time in gestation, the idea having emerged in a chance conversation over a year ago between a couple of members attending the Bournemouth weekend and Ed, the owner of Flirt café-bar, a vibrant and inclusive venue in the centre of town, writes Howard Dymock. Welcome drinks collected from the bar, the quirky but com

We're always delighted when non-Naturist organisations run clothes- or costume-free activities and here's another that we're pleased to tell you about. It's a full morning of activity - with the swim followed by yoga, axe-throwing and archery, and a rural sauna. Sadly, only the dip is nude, but it's
