From Abbotsbury the public bus will take us up the hill then it’s eastwards along the grassy South Dorset Ridgeway with its far-reaching views over Chesil Bank and the Isle of Portland. From Hardy’s Monument we’ll drop down to Portesham and back to Abbotsbury.
8.5 miles, with shorter walking options and/or bus back from Portesham to Abbotsbury.
Non-naturist partners and friends are welcome. Late morning start. For exact time and further info please tick the “Going” box below.
South Dorset and its coastline is a beautiful area. It’s worth spending a few days here. Why not combine this walk with:
- Laze (or fish for mackerel) on the nearby naturist-friendly West Bexington shingle beach
- a naturist stay at SWOC or at the quirky, basic Studland Summer Camp (details for both are in the BN magazine directory). There’s also a well-recommended textile campsite in Portesham.
