MBNC "Silverglades" Open Day, Sat 16 May 2026, from 10:00 to 22:00 (date tbc and is weather dependent)
PLEASE NOTE OUR NEW WEBSITE AND EMAIL:
silverglades.org.uk
enquiries@silverglades.org.uk
If you are a first-time visitor to Silverglades, there is no fee. A donation is requested from those who have been here before.
Note that pre-booking is required, see below.
We have a small BBQ area with charcoal provided, but otherwise you need to be self-sufficient as we have no utilities (no gas or electric and very limited water supply in containers) and only an event-style mobile toilet
Booking
If you wish to attend an Open Day please contact the club by email enquiries@silverglades.org.uk
Alternatively, you can call or text 07467 246690.
Advance booking is essential; booking closes 13/05/26
Please note: Long/tall vehicles (motorhomes for e.g.) may find access to our site difficult. Let us know if you have such a vehicle and we can check the situation for you.
Back to Basics
Because we are on a Limestone Pavement in an AONB / SSSI, Silverglades isn’t like a traditional large naturist club. We have 10 acres of secluded woods, glades and lawns but to protect the limestone pavement we are unable to have luxuries like electricity and gas or a water supply (so, no electrical hookups or piped water/waste). We have a small clubhouse, with an event style toilet. Outdoors, there is a bbq area and picnic tables, but everyone visiting needs to be self-sufficient.
We don't publish the exact location, but Silverglades is ten minutes walk from Silverdale station on the Lancaster-Barrow-Carlisle line (one stop from Arnside) and is ideally situated for naturists without transport who live within striking distance of the Leeds – Morecambe or West coast lines (some journeys require a change at Lancaster)

We are back for 2026! A clothing optional 3-mile circular Naked Heart Walk around the beautiful gardens of Powderham Castle Estate in DevonThe Event
This event offers a clothing-optional 3 mile circular Naked Heart Walk around the beautiful gardens of Powderham Castle Estate in Devon to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation.
The Venue
This is a beautiful, privately owned castle near Exeter in the heart of Devon, 10mins from J30 of the M5. (Venue Post Code: EX6 8JQ); (What3Words ///pictures.presides.composes).
Your visit will offer:
· Parking. (Included)
· A 5k (aprox) walk to raise funds for The British Heart Foundation. (Included).
· An optional shorter, more level walk for those with mobility difficulties. (Included)
· An optional longer walk, (For an additional payment).
· A yoga session. (Included).
· Refreshment shop. (Additional payments).
· An optional Afternoon Tea in the Castle. (Additional payment).
· Access to all the gardens for you to stroll around until closing time. (Included)
The Walks
The 5k walk can be rather challenging in places with one particular steep climb. The terrain can be rough in places and soft in others so a less challenging shorter option is available. Alternatively, a longer 10k more challenging walk is also available for a small additional payment. Stout footwear is advisable.
The Yoga
A FREE yoga class will be held at 13.45 in the Old Riding School, or outside if the weather is suitable. Please bring a yoga/exercise mat for the class, and a towel or blanket to cover yourself when we are resting.
You are welcome to wear as little or as much as you want for this activity, but make sure it's something that you can move freely in. The class will be about 50 mins long so that you will be finished in time for the optional Afternoon Tea. It won't be a strong class so if you've never tried yoga then this could be a good opportunity.
The Challenge
Leave your clothes behind and feel the breeze on your skin as you raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation.
The Naked Heart Walks are organised by British Naturism to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and all participants will receive:
A certificate at the end of the walk. Opportunity to purchase a BHF medal (£5) A fundraising link and regular emails to keep you on track. Full support from the British Heart Foundation to help you reach your target. Why not make use of the Just Giving page set up for you, and send details of it to all your friends, family, and contacts so they can donate and sponsor your amazing Naked Walk? Don’t be shy about it. Be brave and tell as many people as you can. It’s surprising how many people will donate to such a well-known, deserving charity, when they know you are doing something, which to them seems, ridiculous. Be BOLD!’
The British Heart Foundation
Heart and circulatory diseases are the world’s biggest killers, and they can affect any of us, including you. But thanks to the research that the British Heart Foundation is funding, there is hope. By backing the brightest scientific minds, we have the power to find treatments and cures that could make the difference between your parents living to old age or not, your friend making it to graduation or not, your sister being a phone call away or not.
This event is a bold one, just like our ambition to fund the science that keeps millions of hearts beating. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for signing up for the Naked Heart Walk and fundraising.
Tickets for this event are sold through Eventbrite. You will be able to purchase tickets from Eventbrite by following the link below:

G&T is a quirky bar in Macclesfield that has recently been purchased by Neil and his friend Millie, Neil being one of 4 naturists that cycled 1,000 miles naked from Land's End to John O'Groats in 2022. Millie runs the day-to-day and staffs the bar, and whilst she prefers to be dressed, we're both excited to try and make this a regular safe space for naturists. Although primarily a cocktail, gin and wine bar; we also have plenty of bottled and canned beers available and we are looking into the possibility of installing lines for draft beer. Discussions are also in place with local take-aways to provide food opportunities for the evening.
