Golf Day
Cancelled due to low sign up & weather
Saturday August 30th 2025
If you have ever fancied playing a round of golf naturist-style, now is your chance!
Although we can't offer you a "proper" golf course, we can offer a 9-hole pitch and putt circuit - and unlike other courses you're welcome to do it naked and then continue your naturist golf experience in our 19th hole, aka the Valley Clubhouse.
Beginners and regular players are all welcome
We'll start the day with some gentle tuition, before breaking for lunch and then having a friendly competition in the afternoon. You're welcome to explore the rest of the club's facilities when you're not playing - there are expansive lawns giving plenty of space in which to sunbathe, although there is no expectation that anyone will undress if the weather is cool.
The price for the day is £15 per person - this includes your day visit charge, tuition and light refreshments (drinks and cake). To book, please use the form below; we will then contact you to arrange payment
Provisional Timetable – Times are approximate
1000-1100: Arrival and refreshments
1100-1230: Golf tuition and friendly games
1230-1400: Break. Picnic lunches and time to enjoy the club’s facilities
1400-1600: Golf tournament
After 1600: Enjoy the club’s facilities and leave at your convenience.
The clubhouse will be open and we'll be serving tea/coffee and cake throughout the day. Other drinks will be available for purchase from the clubhouse bar (cash only), but we advise that you bring a picnic for your lunch. Please also remember to bring a towel to sit or lie on and sun cream – hopefully the weather will be sunny! Unless they're discrete, we do ask that any genital piercings are removed while you’re on site
We do still have space available for overnight visitors, so if you have a tent, caravan or motorhome and would like to book to stay overnight on either Friday or Saturday please click here.

We are delighted to announce that we are going back to the beautiful Burrows Gardens this year. They have also confirmed that the gardens will be able to stay open for an extra hour until 5pm if the weather on the day is suitable.
Located just off the main Ashbourne to Derby road (A52), on the Derby side of Brailsford, the gardens are approached via a tree lined avenue, at the end of which is parking on hard standing - any overflow vehicles can park on the paddock.
For those familiar with what3words, the location code for the entrance is verse.town.exit
Tea and Coffee will be available, as well as delicious home baked cakes
If you wish to purchase a ticket on the gate, that is not a problem, these will be charged at £15.
To buy tickets, click here.

The Great East Skinny Dip is part of the Great British Skinny Dip. Thousands of people across the country will be taking part to raise money for good causes and to experience the exhileration of being naked.
Why Skinny Dip?
From mental health and body positivity to raising your heart rate and just feeling the rush of being alive, there are many, many health benefits to being naked. But, if you are looking for another reason to skinny dip, why not do it for a great cause? Our chosen charity is the mental heath charity MIND (charity reg no 1064309)
The Great British Skinny Dip started in 2016 and has expanded from one event to dozens being organised around the country.
The Great East Skinny Dip had six dippers in 2019 and expanded to forty when it moved to Clacton-on-Sea for 2021. By 2023 this had reached 100.
Being in a non-judgemental diverse group helps you become familiar with and accepting of all kinds of body types. Whatever you look like, you are normal, as is everyone else.
You can be as bare as you dare. If you would feel more comfortable wearing a swimsuit then you are welcome to. There will be time to strip off and store your clothes before the off and plenty of space to spread out or stay within your friends or family group when on the beach.
https://slowswimming.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/img141-1024x239.jpg The Great East Skinny Dip takes place at 1pm on the sea front at Clacton-on-Sea. We are 1km along the sea front south (to the right) of the pleasure pier, near the Martello Tower.
https://slowswimming.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Image2-1024x421.jpg We will be meeting at 12 noon at on the beach in front of the Martello Tower.
Please make sure you have entered online first. Once signed in you will receive a wrist band that you must wear during the event.
At 1pm we will sound the horn and rush as one into the sea. Squeals and screams are bound to follow!
This year we are proud to be raising much needed funds for MIND, the mental health charity (charity reg no. 1064309)
Ask your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you to take part in the Great East Skinny Dip then click here to make a donation to MIND, or to upload your sponsorship money.

Travelling
By Train
There are trains arriving every hour from London, Chelmsford Colchester and Ipswich on Greater Anglia from Liverpool Street. Times and booking here https://www.thetrainline.com/
From Clacton-on-Sea railway station it is a fifteen minute walk; down to the sea front, turn right past the pier and along Marine Parade West to the Martello Tower and Martello Bay, at the far end.
By Car
You can find car parks in Clacton on Sea here www.google.com/maps/search/google+car+par+map/@51.789474.1,1.57991,13z
We will be at the sea front between the Hastings Avenue Car Park (53, 55 Hastings Ave, Clacton CO15 1XY) and the Toby Carvery (CO15 1NW). You’ll spot the gazebo and the Slow Swimming flags.
Am I allowed to take pictures?
Yes you are but we strongly urge you to consider the privacy of others when taking film and photos to capture your GESD experience. Refrain from uploading any footage to social media without the permission of all those featured. Some dippers simply cannot afford to have themselves displayed on the internet. Be sensible and respectful.

The most northerly GBSD event. This location will be a bit of a trek for most but there are plenty of accommodation options nearby and several other beaches and skinny-dipping opportunities to explore in the area so why not make a weekend of it?
Join us at Findhorn East beach (postcode IV36 3AB, what3words booklets.boxing.dragonfly) for the most northerly GBSD in the UK! This stunning location is at one end of a 7-mile beach to Burghead with views across the Moray Firth towards Caithness. Curious seals often come along to see what is happening, dolphins regularly visit the area and a basking shark joined the dip in 2024 (from a safe distance)!
The event will raise funds for the Findhorn Dunes Trust who own the section of beach which we’ll be using. Although they are a not on JustGiving, they are a registered charity and their bank details can be provided to anyone who wants to make donations directly. Funds enable the charity to raise awareness about this fragile environment and promote activities to remove invasive species which are destroying the rare 'dune heath' which is home to a variety of endangered lichens, fungi and moths. Suggested donation of £10 per person, or as much as you can afford.
Please park in the East Beach car park which is signposted towards the right on the approach to Findhorn. The car park is at the end of “Dunes Road”, which is a bit of a rough track towards the end. Park around to the left and please leave the “Blue Badge” spaces for those who have a blue badge. The car park is free, though donations are welcome. There are no facilities at the east beach. There are facilities (toilets, cafes) in Findhorn itself and on the main beach which are a short drive or 10-minute walk away.
