Since Chapeltown Pool is meeting its demise a new South Yorkshire swim has been arranged, the first swim having been on 22nd May. I travelled from Rotherham by car in less than half-an-hour despite a major road closure in the area which caused delays. There was plenty of street parking, free on Sundays. After paying the fee we all went into the Ladies' to undress and thence into the pool. At 30m it is longer than most and had two shallow ends, it being somewhat deeper n the middle but still easy to stand. It was also a lot warmer than Chapeltown! The swim is at:-
King Edward's Swimming Pool,
Clarkhouse Road
Sheffield
S10 2LB
For details of the pool please see their website ( http://kesp.co.uk/ )
For location see Google Maps - the pool is near the centre:-

The swims will normally take place on the third Sunday of the month, fron 1530 to 1715 ( all persons to leave by 1725 ). Cost will be £5 ( BN/INF, cards to be shown ) or £7 otherwise. The rise in price reflects the increased cost of pool hire. The pool does not have lockers and swimmers are advised to bring a bag for their clothes/possessions and to take them poolside as the secure cloakroom appears not to be staffed.
The pool is situated near the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and is served by the 120 bus amongst others. For those arriving by car the staff car park is available on Newbould Lane. If you are hungry/thirsty there is a Wetherspoon's ( The Francis Newton ) virtually opposite.

Further swims in Sheffield are on July 17th, August 21st, September 18th,
