We’re always delighted to see new places for nude recreation and to help them to get off the ground. Here’s what Victoria of London’s SweHeat Sauna told us...
SweHeat Sauna is nestled among an underground Arts and Culture movement in the industrial backwaters of Canning Town, East London. Our site situated behind the well established New Docklands Steam Baths and adding a little something extra to the bathhouse culture that has survived and is still thriving in this area.
We have a 12 person, Wood fired sauna that provides an authentic Scandinavian experience that puts sweat bathing practices at its core. For us this is the simple pleasure of being naked in a hot room, to cleanse the body, mind and spirit with a not so obligatory but just as beneficial cold plunge.
It is clear that a brave and well managed step away from clothed saunas in the UK needs to have happen, if a “new wave of Sauna culture” is to align with its traditional roots. Currently gyms and spas shy away from this, have little to no knowledge of saunas real function (or are seedy establishments where sex is freely given and expected)
SweHeat Sauna intends to change this paradigm, providing a grass roots and unpretentious vibe in a secluded outside environment. To integrate this plan all of our sessions are clothing optional with a strong warning to those who are easily offended by the appearance of body parts.
I am happy to report that we have already been visited by a few members of British Naturism, one of whom provides us with some German Aufguss style rituals on occasion. We would welcome more of your community to come and support our mission to make naked Sauna as normal as it is in Europe. There's also a 10% discount for BN members!
