Print is Dead? Not for BN Magazine

Many people will have heard about the upcoming changes to H&E Naturist magazine. The long-running publication is moving to an online-only format and will also be tightening its editorial focus on Naturism.

The news naturally prompted discussion among readers about the future of print magazines. At the same time, British Naturism has been surveying our members on a range of topics, including their views on our own BN Magazine.

The results were remarkably clear. Almost 70% of respondents said they prefer to read the printed magazine, with many of the remaining readers choosing to enjoy both the print and digital versions.

That overwhelming support makes our decision a very easy one.

The print edition of BN Magazine is staying.

For readers of H&E Naturist who will miss receiving a printed magazine through the post, now could be the perfect time to consider a British Naturism membership. None of this should be seen as a reason to turn away from H&E Naturist. Far from it. It is the oldest Naturist publication in the world and an important part of our shared history. It should be celebrated and protected.

The good news is that the two magazines are not competitors in any meaningful sense; they complement each other.

H&E Naturist is published monthly, allowing it to respond quickly to current news and developments. BN Magazine, published quarterly, takes a broader view, with more in-depth features, interviews and coverage of the wider Naturist community. Now they will also differ in format, with H&E Naturist embracing digital publication while BN Magazine continues to be available in print.

So if you're wondering whether you should choose BN Magazine or H&E Naturist, perhaps the answer isn't either/or.

Choose both.

Together they offer two distinctive perspectives on Naturism, each with its own strengths, and together they help preserve a rich tradition of Naturist publishing while continuing to evolve for today's readers.
