As NKD reaches its end, we are winding down, packing our tents, reflecting on a fantastic festival and already pining for NKD 2027.
And what a festival it has been. 2026 saw our largest ever attendance, with 240 festival-goers joining us. The records did not stop there either. We sold a record number of additional tickets for the waterpark, with a further 80 attendees helping make it the biggest waterpark session we have ever had there by far.
The scorching weather certainly helped – Tuesday’s temperature again set new standards as the highest UK temperature recorded since records began – but even more important was the sense of community. NKD is tangible proof that Naturism is alive in the younger generations and that if we provide the opportunities, people will come.
Our core of regular attendees creates an immediate sense of connection, meaning the many newcomers quickly feel part of the community too.
Highlights certainly included the new laser tag, while NKD’s Got Talent returned for its second year with some outstanding performances, especially from our younger attendees.
But rather than hear it from me, I’ll let Emily share her thoughts after making a last-minute decision to join us:
“I jumped in at the deep end and went to NKD and had a great time! So many people saw that I was a lone newcomer and made an effort to welcome me.”
Emily’s experience is far from unique and NKD is not the only place you will find it. So if you have been thinking about giving Naturism a try, maybe it is time to throw yourself in too.
