Phew, it’s hot. When the weather is like this, we have just one recommendation: don’t wear clothes.
Luckily, there are plenty of opportunities to ditch the wardrobe and get outside in the glorious summer weather this weekend. Here are just a few highlights.
Himalayan Gardens Naked Heart Walk
Late on Saturday afternoon, we return to the spectacular Himalayan Gardens near Ripon, North Yorkshire, to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
This 45-acre sculpture park offers plenty of opportunities to stroll, relax and soak up the summer sunshine. With the kiosk by the lake serving snacks and soft drinks, it is the perfect place to spend a warm summer evening.
On Saturday evening, we take over the historic Peterborough Lido as part of the Great British Skinny Dip.
The heated outdoor pool is enjoyable in any weather, but with temperatures soaring and the chance to relax naked around the pool in the evening sunshine, this is an event not to miss.
Leonardslee Gardens Naked Heart Walk
On Sunday, we head back into the gardens as we visit Leonardslee Gardens near Horsham, West Sussex, for a second Naked Heart Walk of the weekend.
Like the Himalayan Gardens, Leonardslee combines stunning landscapes with impressive sculptures. It also features a fascinating dolls’ house museum, making for a wonderfully varied day out.
Sunfolk Online Community Meet-Up
Finally, there is a special gathering at Sunfolk this weekend.
During the COVID-19 lockdowns, we launched a range of online sessions to keep people connected. Two of those: the Coffee Morning and Book Club, are still going strong today.
This weekend, participants past and present will be gathering at Sunfolk to meet many of their virtual friends in person for the first time. The gathering is not exclusive, however. Sunfolk is open to everyone, and visitors can expect a particularly friendly and talkative atmosphere on Sunday.
Of course, Sunfolk is open throughout the summer and makes a fantastic destination whether or not a special event is taking place.
Between them, these four options offer some excellent ways to make the most of the heatwave. So what are you waiting for? Choose your favourite and get outside.
