If you live in or around our nation’s capital, it’s a great time to be a Naturist.
The biggest development in the LASER region is the appointment of Roy Millard as the new Regional Organiser.@roy.millard will already be a familiar face to many members, having been one of the popular massage therapists at Nudefest for several years. He is also a member of several South East clubs and a regular attendee – and organiser – of a wide range of regional events.
Alongside his enthusiasm for Naturism, Roy brings extensive experience in professional project management, giving the region a strong foundation as it looks to build on recent successes.
Roy describes himself as "a Naturist" for the past 25 years, although, looking back, he believes he has always been one.
"I am a strong advocate for social nudity and the normalising of nudity, and I'm looking forward to helping promote these through my new role with British Naturism."
The timing could hardly be better, because the region already has an exceptionally busy programme of activities over the coming weeks.
Houghton Lodge
One of the highlights of the LASER calendar is the annual visit to Houghton Lodge Gardens. On Tuesday 4 August, the beautiful riverside gardens will once again open exclusively for Naturists. With temperatures forecast to climb well above 20°C, this year's event could be one of the best attended yet.
Hiking
The naked hiking season is now in full swing, and nowhere is that more evident than in the South East. Four organised walks are planned over the next fortnight:
• 30 July – Friston Forest, near Eastbourne
• 5 August – Wepham Down, near Arundel
• 6 August – North Downs, near Lenham
• 7 August – Markbeech, near Tunbridge Wells

Great British Skinny Dip
After all that walking, a refreshing swim might be just what you need. Fortunately, you won't have to travel far, with two Great British Skinny Dip events taking place the following weekend:
• 8 August – Invicta Sun Club GBSD, near Dover
• 8 August – Petersfield Skinny Dip
Brighton Pride
The region's activities aren't limited to leisure events. On Saturday 1 August, British Naturism will be taking part in the Brighton Pride parade, marching alongside the LGBTQ+ community in a celebration of equality, diversity and inclusion.
