The International Naturist Federation Pétanque Competition 2026 took place from 3–5 July at Brockenhurst, hosted jointly by British Naturism and The Naturist Foundation. Teams from Germany, Great Britain, Belgium and Canada competed across three days of sunshine, sport and Naturist camaraderie.
Friday saw arrivals, practice sessions and a warm welcome from British Naturism Sports Officer Ian Munt and the Foundation team. A traditional fish and chips dinner and an energetic open mic night in the newly refurbished Cow Shed set the tone for a lively weekend.
Competition began early on Saturday, opened by British Naturism Chair Colin Taylor, with 44 players battling for places in Sunday’s finals. After a full day of play, the top sixteen teams were confirmed, followed by a gala dinner and a headline performance from The Searchers’ backing band, who praised the audience as “friendly, kind and amazing.”
Sunday’s finals delivered exceptional pétanque, with Germany securing first and second place through Holger & Svenja and Jens & Martina. Team GB’s Paul and Karen claimed third. Consolation winners included Ingrid & Manolo (Germany), Keith & Sarah (GB), and Caroline & Geoffrey (GB). INF Vice Chair Edwin closed the event to enthusiastic applause.
British Naturism extends sincere thanks to the Naturist Foundation trustees and volunteers, and to the BN volunteer team whose dedication ensured a smooth and enjoyable tournament. Planning is already underway for a more relaxed national pétanque event in 2027.
