The first episode of the new Naturist podcast, Ask a Naturist, was released this weekend.
The brainchild of Young British Naturism leader Jon Ward and former International Youth Leader James Shuttleworth, the podcast is made by young Naturists, for young Naturists – and plenty of people who are perhaps not quite so young as well.
Unlike many existing Naturist podcasts, which tend to focus on interviews or in-depth discussions, Ask a Naturist is built around relaxed conversations between Jon and James, with plans to welcome guests in future episodes. The emphasis is on friendly banter rather than lectures or debates, making it an easy listen for anyone who is curious about Naturism but doesn't necessarily want to immerse themselves in the finer points of the lifestyle. In many ways, that relaxed conversation reflects the real Naturist experience far better than any list of facts ever could.
At its heart, the podcast is about sharing real stories and experiences. Jon and James explore how people first discovered Naturism, what encouraged them to give it a try, and what they have learned along the way. Future episodes aim to help newcomers by sharing honest experiences, anecdotes and advice from people who have already travelled the familiar "Should I? Shouldn't I?" journey.
Audience participation is a key part of the concept. Rather than deciding for themselves what people ought to know, the presenters are inviting listeners to submit the questions and topics they genuinely want answered. If you have something you've always wondered about Naturism, you can submit your questions or ideas here.
The first episode is now available on Spotify, with more episodes planned. You can also follow the podcast through its new website to keep up to date with future releases and submit your own questions for discussion.
