Event details

The most northerly GBSD event. This location will be a bit of a trek for most but there are plenty of accommodation options nearby and several other beaches and skinny-dipping opportunities to explore in the area so why not make a weekend of it?

Join us at Findhorn East beach (postcode IV36 3AB, what3words booklets.boxing.dragonfly) for the most northerly GBSD in the UK! This stunning location is at one end of a 7-mile beach to Burghead with views across the Moray Firth towards Caithness. Curious seals often come along to see what is happening and dolphins regularly visit the area.

The event will raise funds for the Findhorn Dunes Trust who own the section of beach which we’ll be using. Although they are a not on JustGiving, they are a registered charity and their bank details can be provided to anyone who wants to make donations directly. Funds enable the charity to raise awareness about this fragile environment and promote activities to remove invasive species which are destroying the rare 'dune heath' which is home to a variety of endangered lichens, fungi and moths. Suggested donation of £10 per person, or as much as you can afford.

Please park in the East Beach car park which is signposted towards the right on the approach to Findhorn. The car park is at the end of “Dunes Road”, which is a bit of a rough track towards the end. Park around to the left and please leave the “Blue Badge” spaces for those who have a blue badge. The car park is free, though donations are welcome. There are no facilities at the east beach. There are facilities (toilets, cafes) in Findhorn itself and on the main beach which are a short drive or 10-minute walk away.
