Naked Heart Walk - College Lake nr Tring. Sat 6 Sept 25

College Lake is one of the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust's flagship nature reserves. This thriving nature reserve supports more than 1,000 different wildlife species.  The venue is ideal for a Naked Heart Walk as it is a circular self-guided walk on a gentle footpath with way markers. There is a shop, ample parking and toilets. These walks are clothing optional and you are welcome to complete the walk by yourself or join with others. There are three walks to choose from:
“Time Trail”: 1 ¾ mile which takes you through the geology and history of the Lake
“Bird Trail”: ¾ mile past five bird hides with different views of the lake
“Wild Trail”: a full 2 miles to circumnavigate the Lake (allow 1 hr).
You are welcome to bring binoculars and cameras, but no photographs of people without their explicit consent.
Due to its popularity, and as a special concession to us, the venue will close early to the public but we must not arrive in the car park before 5:15pm. You are welcome to get undressed in the car park but valuables are left at our own risk. Registration starts at 5:30pm. The shop will remain open until 7.30pm but the site must be cleared by 8pm (when it gets dark). There is a local pub a few minutes’ drive away if you arrive early or as a venue for afterwards.
Tickets are limited to a maximum of 50 attendees, so early booking is recommended.

Notes:
Two motorized mobility vehicles “trampers” are available, but you need to check and reserve one direct with collegelake@bbowt.org.uk saying you are attending the NHW.
The shop will be open until 7.30pm where you can buy cold drinks and snacks.
You can bring your own food onto the site.
Due to the wildlife on site: no dogs are allowed except assistance dogs.

Fantastic Visit to Houghton Lodge Gardens

I travelled from North Kent to visit Houghton Lodge Gardens. 2 hours in sweltering heat to reach this fantastic house and gardens on the bank of the River Test. I joined a long queue of people at the entrance, some had prepaid to include a bbq, a first for these popular garden visits but it was possible to pay on the door for just a garden visit (I actually managed to buy one of a few spare bbq tickets too!). So grateful to get to the changing area and get rid of the restrictive clothing I was in following a previous event near home.
The gardens are magnificent and the lawns drop down to the quietness of the River Test, with swans gliding by. The only sound were the sounds of nature. Perfect. Around the grounds were a series of sculptures, part of a temporary exhibition. If you wanted you could join in the Treasure Hunt Maddie had devised. I had taken the opportunity for a glass of chilled rose in the surroundings of the more formal gardens, beautiful colours surrounding.
In the middle was a long table under a cover, ready for the delicious bbq that rounded off the evening. Post-drink I wandered round the peaceful setting with the sun, still powerful at 7.30pm
There were over 70 people attending, a fantastic turnout.
I finally left the site at 9pm with the temperature still registering 23 degrees where it remained for most of my journey back to Kent.
What a glorious evening! Thanks to our host Sophie and her son for the cooking - he even joined in the dress code but with suitable apron protection from the heat of the bbq, and thanks to @Geoffrey Ryder and Maddie for their organisation.
"Let's do it again this summer" we heard. So we arranged the next visit for Wednesday August 13th. Sadly we are unable to arrange a BBQ for this one but we have put in a request of a repeat of the weather (we can but hope). Details will be on the calendar very soon!


Naked Cruise around Poole Harbour on Saturday 28th June

Our next event is a Boat Trip from Poole Quay on Saturday 28th June. The weather forecast look good at the moment, so why not get it booked. Why not make a day of it and visit Studland Beach during the day!!
The details are:
Come and join us on the evening on Saturday 28th June 2025 for a Naked Cruise around Poole Harbour and beyond right in the heart of Dorset?  This is a fantastic opportunity to climb aboard MV Solent Scene at Poole Quay then sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Dorset Riviera as you cruise around Brownsea Island, past Sandbanks and Old Harry Rocks then along the Jurassic coast towards Swanage, returning past Millionaire’s Row before arriving back at Poole Quay. 
Solent Scene has two separate internal saloons, incorporating the bar and quiet lounge on the lower deck and the disco and dancefloor on the upper deck. In addition to this, she also has two large outside decks.  The on-board bar will be open throughout the trip so you can purchase drinks for cash or card payment.  A fish and chips supper will be available as an optional extra which you can book when purchasing your ticket.
Boarding the vessel will be from Poole Quay at 18.45 hrs with departure at 19.00 hrs and return will be by 22.00 hrs.  You must be dressed to embark and debark the vessel but you will be able to undress after departure and remain naked until just before mooring at the end of the cruise.  This is an adult only cruise.  Several pay car parks are available within easy walking distance of the quayside but beware, there is very little free roadside parking nearby.

Petersfield Swims this Summer - Did you think we'd forgotten?

We are back at Petersfield for a series of 3 swimming evenings as part of their Great British Skinny Dip involvement in June and August.
The pool is heated to 27 degrees C, there is a café on site for hot & cold drinks and snacks and a BBQ especially for us.
is a large public car park or if coming via public transport, the pool is located a 10 minute walk from the station. 
The Great British Skinny Dip is raising funds for the British Heart Foundation. Please consider purchasing a ticket with an extra £2 donated to BHF. Alternatively we will have collecting buckets for any cash donations on the night.

Pottery June 1st Change of time for session 2

I'm really sorry but we have had to amalgamate the two sessions on Sunday as we didn't sell enough tickets for session 2. If you have a ticket for the second session we would love it if you could make the first session that starts at 11am. I have emailed all those who bought tickets for that session but thought it best to publicise this as much as I can in case people don't check their emails. Please let me know if this affects you and you can't make it for 11am and I'll organise a refund.
Once again huge apologies. I have tried hard via social media, newsletters and this website to sell tickets and had hoped there would be more response closer to the day. Perhaps the good weather forecast has on this occasion worked against me!
For those booked for 11am nothing has changed.

Naked Cruise in Plymouth - Friday 13th June 2025

Join us for a 3-hour naked evening cruise around Plymouth Sound in Devon and along The River Lynher towards St Germans.  Board the vessel at The Barbican Landing Stage and prepare to admire the beautiful scenery looking back on Plymouth as we cruise around The Sound and wallow in the beauty of the river bank as we pass along the picturesque river Lynher.  See some of the Royal Navy’s ships moored in the river Tamar as you pass by.  There will be music and a fully licensed bar on board from which you may purchase refreshments and pay using cash or card.  A scrumptious Haddock and Chips supper can be ordered for an additional charge.

Looking East – Yorkshire and East Midlands

The peaceful landscapes of the East Midlands and Yorkshire offer not only scenic countryside and historic charm but also a growing number of opportunities for Naturists to embrace the outdoors freely.  Whether you're strolling along the wide-open beaches of East Yorkshire, relaxing in a Lincolnshire naturist venue, or attending a naked swim in Nottingham, the area has something to offer every Naturist.  With a growing network of volunteers and opportunities, it’s a wonderful part of the country to reconnect with nature and other Naturists – in the most natural way possible.
As you look through any edition of the BN magazine you will see reports or notices of forthcoming regional events that are exciting, enjoyable and (often) quite away from where you live.  So now is the time to bring about that same excitement and enjoyment to your own ‘neck of the woods’.  Garden visits; naked walks; naked dining events; visits to historic houses, museums and galleries; canal, riverboat and coastal trips; skinny dips and beach days; and much much more.
These and other local or regional events need volunteers to help organise and deliver them.  As a volunteer organising or stewarding one of our events, it is a real pleasure to see the joy of fellow Naturists as they meet old and new friends and have a great time.  These events are also opportunities for volunteers to meet other Naturists and enjoy social nudity with others.
Here we take a look at how you can become involved in volunteering across the Yorkshire & East Midlands region.  There are several roles providing volunteers with some great opportunities to be part of BN’s expanding programme of regional events:

Regional Events Officers
Within these regions, responsibility for organising events is shared among several volunteer roles so that different people take on different types of events, such as garden visits or naked dining events.  It is an opportunity for each volunteer to organise perhaps just one or two events in an area of personal interest.
Together, these roles provide an opportunity to jointly lead the development of the region's events programme and undertake the coordination, organisation, promotion and support of Naturist events, activities and opportunities within the region.  Key activities include:
Planning and delivery of regional events
Identifying and booking suitable venues
Risk assessments
Determining date, time, budget, pricing and format
Promoting participation in naturist events
Liaison with Events Team on ticket sales/attendees
Overseeing stewarding and check-in arrangements.
Skills Needed
Coordinating, organisational, planning and decision-making skills
Enthusiasm to encourage others’ participation
Written and verbal communication skills
Interpersonal skills.
Time commitment: about eight hours a month.  Specialist roles could also be seasonal with garden visits in the spring/summer and dining events in the autumn/winter.

Advising on rules and requirements of naturist sports
Contact point on naturist sports
Ceremonial functions
Arranging judges and officials
Promoting naturist sports, health and wellbeing benefits.
Skills Needed
Experience or enthusiasm for organising sports
Good organisation with attention to detail
Enthusiasm to encourage others’ participation
Written and verbal communication skills
Interpersonal skills.
Time Commitment: 2+ hours per week.

Regional Event Steward
An opportunity to assist in coordinating, supporting and supervising people’s attendance at activities and events; in meeting their information, safety and welfare needs; and assisting with the delivery of an enjoyable and safe experience for all concerned.  Key Activities include:
Controlling entrances and exists
Welcoming and checking-in participants
Directing participants
Customer care
Event safety and security
Safeguarding
Dealing with problems
Assisting with event operations.
Skills Needed
Reliability and good timekeeping
Well organised and attention to detail
Observational and oversight skills
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Hospitality and customer care skills.
Time Commitment: up to three hours per event.

Regional Beach Officers
This role can include organising Beach Days, skinny dips and clean-up events, as well as coordinating access to local beaches and promoting their use by naturists and the general public.  So, if you love visiting beautiful bare beaches and could help others access them too, then this is the ideal role for you!  This exciting role is full of variety and is ideally suited for anyone interested in sun, sea and sand.
You will have (or a willingness to acquire) a knowledge of naturist beaches in your region/locality; good coordination, planning and organising skills; and an enthusiasm for, successful campaigns and/or promotional work. 
Time required: typically about three or more hours a week.  This is highly flexible and will depend on the availability of the volunteer, the seasonal nature of the role and the need to address any particular issues associated with beaches in the region.  Ideal as a home-based opportunity with travel to local beaches.

Regional Public Relations Officer
As a member of the Regional Team, you will be responsible for communicating with British Naturism members (e.g. writing the monthly regional newsletter) and liaising with media outlets in the region; for promoting Naturism and opportunities for members and the public to participate in naturist activities and events within the region.
You will need to be a confident communicator, preferably with previous experience of talking to the media; have good written communication skills and an eye for detail and accuracy; and the ability to maintain a positive image of naturism and a positive media profile.

Regional Administrator
If administration is more to your liking, the role of Regional Administrator provides you with the opportunity to assist and support the Regional Organiser in enabling the Regional Team to fulfil its responsibilities; and support the organisation, coordination and promotion of regional meetings.
You will need to have good administrative, organisational, planning and decision-making skills; good IT skills, including the use of Office software and written communication skills.
Time required: typically you will require three or more hours a week with time devoted to the role depending on your personal circumstances.

Ladies Only Wild Swim - Leicestershire. 16 May, 7pm-8pm

Join us for a relaxed and welcoming Ladies Only Clothing Optional Swim — an evening created especially for women to feel free, confident, and empowered in their own skin.
You can choose to swim in a costume, go topless, or skinny dip — it's entirely up to you. There is absolutely no pressure, just the opportunity to enjoy the water in a way that feels right for you.
With an all-female team both lifeguarding and running the coffee shop, you'll be in safe and supportive hands throughout the event.

Pottery event in London update

A quick update on the pottery event in Shepperton South West London on June 1st. We have sold out the first session and still have some tickets left for the second session which starts at 2.30 although there will be a social session for both groups at 1.30 (coffee, tea and biscuits). The session runs till 5pm. Julia will be giving tuition in making a piece but if anyone has experience and wants a go on the wheel unassisted they are welcome.

The new London Swim

In case anyone has missed the announcement by Andrew Welch London now has its own swim again. It's on Sundays 8pm to 10pm at The Circle Gym and Spa, Queen Elizabeth Street, London, SE1 2JE. This is near Tower Bridge.
The club has a 17-metre indoor pool, with two lanes. One lane will be for swimming and the other for chats and relaxation. You’ll also have full access to the club’s steam room, sauna, and spa pool.

Peterborough Lido Naturist Swim. Sat 5th July 18:30 - 20:30

Not too late to book... it's happening this evening (5th July) and the weather is looking good.
Wow, that was good. Let's do it again. So we have.
Eastern Region has enjoyed naturist visits at the Lido since 2019 and are pleased to announce that we have booked Peterborough Lido again for a naturist swim in 2025. This venue is a wonderful example of a 1930s Lido with three heated pools.
We have the pool from 18:30 until 20:30.
The price remains as last year, £12 for BN members and £14 for others. Entry is by ticket only, and tickets are available to book here.
The Lido is at PE1 1YY and is easily accessible from the Peterborough grid roads, from the A1 or the A47, via the A1139. The large car park is on the left as you approach on Bishops Road having left the A1139 at the City Centre exit. It is also accessible from Peterborough railway station, about a 1200-metre walk.
Watch the charges at the "Bishops Road" car park. It is Pay-and-Display and if you arrive after 18:00 you will need to pay £3.50 for 2 hours until the free time starts at 20:00; if you arrive before 18:00 it'll be £6.50! "Riverside" car park might be cheaper for between 3 and 4 hours.

Valerian Sun Club Open Day

Valerian Sun Club on the Isle of Wight  is holding an Open Day on May 4th. It's a lovely place set in 6 acres of protected woodland. They have a clubhouse and camping facilities with electric hook up. There will be coffee and cake on the day and Mike of BN Quiz fame will be there to welcome you with a smile!! The club is on the outskirts of Havenstreet and is within walking distance of the Steam Railway Centre.

Active Waters Wild Swimming, Lake Ashmore, Gore Tree Road, Hemingford Grey, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE28 9BP
Lake Ashmore is a stunning man-made lake which offers treated water to ensure a beautifully clean swim. The lake is approximately 1 mile in diameter with a designated swim course of 800 meters. This event is bespoke and exclusive to nude swimmers to ensure a relaxed and safe environment to enjoy a swim. Lifeguards will be on duty to ensure the safety of all swimmers. 
Requirements: 
Brightly coloured swim hats and tow floats must be worn to ensure swimmers' safety.
Swimmers must be able to confidently swim 300m. (Not suitable for non-swimmers)
Age: 18+ only
Advanced Booking Only. Participants only, no spectators unless accompanying a nude swimmer.

PLIED AND PREJUDICE

I'm negotiating at the moment to hold a naked theatre night at the Vaults in Waterloo, London. We have been there twice in the past and it's been very successful. This one is a comedy based on Pride and Prejudice. Apparently the cast of the show are up for it (they loved it the last time we had a clothes optional night there). What I need to know now is how many people would be interested? 
They are selling tickets at £19 but that might need adjusting if I can't guarantee a full house. The show would be some time in the next two months... please let me know below if it's a strong possibility for you.

Anyone want to learn some pottery skills?

I've been in touch with the Village Pottery near Twickenham today and we can have two pottery lessons for 12 people at a time. It would be on a Sunday afternoon sometime between May 20th and June 20th. The idea is that there will be a 40 minute gap between sessions so the first group can socialise with the second one. It's a case of bring your own refreshments. Julie the owner and tutor has already had one naturist group as can be seen 27 minutes into the great film linked below. Tickets will go in sale as soon as I'm confident we can sell enough at £35 each. Could you please comment below if you're really interested.. with no obligation at this point. There is a nearby railway station (1 mile). Patti and myself will be going so that leaves 22 tickets... or just 10 if we can only get enough for one session.
 

Shaftsbury Lido Naked Swims in 2025 & Lido Renovations Fundraising Appeal

Good news from Shaftesbury Lido for the 2025 summer season.  The plan is to have weekly swims every Tuesday evening once the season begins.  In 2023 the Lido had a Naked Swim once a month; in 2024 it increased to two sessions a month and in 2025, following many requests from our naturist swimmers, it will be a weekly session.
The season opening, however, depends on vital improvements to the pool being completed in the coming months.  Whilst Shaftesbury Council have agreed to the new filtration system and new pool liner being installed to keep the Lido running, they would like some outside funding to help with the huge costs. 
The Friends of Shaftesbury Swimming, of which I am a committee member, have organised a Crowdfunding appeal to try and raise £15,000 to match a promised £15,000 from Sport England.  We have less than a month to raise that total but got off to a great start yesterday with a fund-raising cold-water swimming event at the Lido.

One point to note if anyone is making a pledge on the Crowdfunder page - the suggested "tip" to the Crowdfunder organisation is voluntary.  If you use the "enter custom amount" button rather accepting the suggested 20%, you can set it at whatever level you wish, including 0%.  
Thank you for your help in sharing the Lido message with the wider BN community, both in the South-West Region and beyond as a good number of our regular naturist swimmers travel to the Lido from outside the region.

Naked Cruise in Poole on Saturday 28th June 2025

Come and join me on the evening on Saturday 28th June 2025 for a Naked Cruise around Poole Harbour and beyond right in the heart of Dorset?  This is a fantastic opportunity to climb aboard MV Solent Scene at Poole Quay then sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Dorset Riviera as you cruise around Brownsea Island, past Sandbanks and Old Harry Rocks then along the Jurassic coast towards Swanage, returning past Millionaire’s Row before arriving back at Poole Quay. 
Solent Scene has two separate internal saloons, incorporating the bar and quiet lounge on the lower deck and the disco and dancefloor on the upper deck. In addition to this, she also has two large outside decks.  The on-board bar will be open throughout the trip so you can purchase drinks for cash or card payment.  A fish and chips supper will be available as an optional extra which you can book when purchasing your ticket.
Boarding the vessel will be from Poole Quay at 18.45 hrs with departure at 19.00 hrs and return will be by 22.00 hrs.  You must be dressed to embark and debark the vessel but you will be able to undress after departure and remain naked until just before mooring at the end of the cruise.  This is an adult only cruise.  Several pay car parks are available within easy walking distance of the quayside but beware, there is very little free roadside parking nearby.

Naked Cruise in Plymouth on Friday 13th June 2025 - tickets now on sale!!!!

Join us for a 3-hour naked evening cruise around Plymouth Sound in Devon and along The River Lynher towards St Germans.  Board the vessel at The Barbican Landing Stage and prepare to admire the beautiful scenery looking back on Plymouth as we cruise around The Sound and wallow in the beauty of the river bank as we pass along the picturesque river Lynher.  See some of the Royal Navy’s ships moored in the river Tamar as you pass by.  There will be music and a fully licensed bar on board from which you may purchase refreshments and pay using cash or card.  A scrumptious Haddock and Chips supper can be ordered for an additional charge.

Happy St. David's Day to all our members in Wales!!
As you can see from this photo, taken this morning from Clevedon in North Somerset, the sun is shining on Wales today!!!
Don't forget that there are many events in South Wales - Western Swimming Club every Friday in Chepstow, the monthly Nudie Dudies Swim in Llantwit Major, followed by a meet-up for Sunday dinner, and a monthly meet n greet in Cardiff. We also have two Naked Heart Walks in aid of the British Heart Foundation later in the year just outside Wales at Court Farm Lakes. Naked Quiz & Social Evening in Bournemouth on Saturday 8th March

Just seven days to go now, and there is still time for you to book a place!!
After the success of our first event at Flirt in October, we are pleased to be to offer a return visit on Saturday 8th March 2025 for a naked quiz and social evening in this modern, vibrant and well-regarded café-bar in the Triangle, adjacent to the central library. 
Ticket holders will be welcomed from 7pm. The cover charge for entry to the event and the quiz includes a welcome drink (choice of bottled beers, 175ml glass of house red, white or rose wine, soft drink or any hot drink).
The kitchen and bar will be open for those wanting to eat and drink. It will be the normal evening menu with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options plus a special hot dish (links below). You don't have to eat if you don't want to: it will be normal counter service and pay-as-you-go, after the initial welcome drink.
