As we celebrate Pride month, we are all keenly aware that some sectors of society have not always experienced the support and welcome that we would expect in modern society, and that some sectors have experienced quite the opposite. Although British Naturism would never condone any form of discrimination, there is imbalance in the demographic groups that make up our membership. Young adults, parents, women and people of colour are all under-represented compared to national averages, and we have an obligation to improve our equality and diversity so everybody feels welcome.
In this month’s debate we will brainstorm ideas for what we might do to make the less represented groups feel comfortable so that we can expand our membership and make Naturism accessible to everybody.
