  5. We're fortunate to receive many approaches from the media - print, radio, TV and online - for news items, features, first-person stories and comment on Naturism and Naturist-related topics. It's mostly because our subject matter is perennially fascinating, but we've also become adept at handling them professionally, and are well-known for being approachable and quick to respond. Best of all is the increase in members willing to participate (thank you all!) - to be interviewed, filmed o
  6. It gives me great pleasure to announce the appointment of Nick Mayhew-Smith to the EC as Clubs Officer. Nick was one of the authors of Bare Beaches and Bare Britain and has written many articles about Naturism for both Naturist and non-Naturist periodicals over many years.  He is a keen historian who knows the legacy of Naturism and British Naturism, a feature that is very valuable in the Clubs Officer role.  Nick designed the first British Naturism website and is the person behind the “Not
  7. Our popular Guide to Naturism has been updated for 2024 and is now available. It’s a comprehensive booklet that contains everything anyone needs to know about Naturism, covering all aspects in a brief and easily digestible way. Use it to persuade your friends to join BN, your colleagues to give social nudity a try, or your local leisure centre to host a skinny dip. We’ll be sending copies to clubs and swims, and taking piles of them to events for you to take away. We have printed many tho
  8. BN's Yorkshire and East Midlands Region will be attending Doncaster Pride, entering the parade and having a stand in the field.  It's particularly exciting as this year Doncaster Pride has been selected to be the UK Pride event. It's a great opportunity to promote that Naturism is for all. So, come and support us, or even help out on the stall! I'd love to get an idea of numbers and so do let me know if you can come. Find out more about the event and our involvement in it here!
  9. British Naturism had an awesome weekend at the Mind Body Spirit festival in London, talking about all the benefits of being naked. A lot of inspirational conversations with very cool people. Our assessment is that attendees are 80% female and very young and so it is a very suitable market place for us. Most attendees are residents of London looking for new things and so it is a receptive crowd. Thanks to everyone who came over to say hi...
  10. The British Naturism events team are back at Birmingham’s NEC this week at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show. Over the next few days we will hand out over 2000 copies of our ‘2020 guide to Naturism’ and make sure that Naturism is out in the open, educating and informing a parallel audience about the benefits of Naturism. Our stand is in Hall 4 - on the main aisle linking the halls. Around us are various holiday companies, parks and resorts and its great to see we are not the only on

  13. Things are continuing to move forwards very nicely with regards to the great attention Naturism is being paid in the press recently, and The Telegraph’s ‘A nudist’s guide to body confidence’ by Anna Clarke based on interviews with BN members, is no exception. The piece, focused on the intersection of body confidence and Naturism, is another straight-talking and genuine slice of journalism eschewing sensationalism in favour of open-mindedness. Being naked, the author argues, is actually quite fas

British Naturism has launched a new online volunteering platform, called Volunteer Connect, designed to help members get more involved in volunteering within the organisation.  Members can now create their very own Volunteering Profile in the volunteering pages of the Members Area (log in required) My Volunteering Profile helps members register their interest in volunteering with BN.  It enables all those who currently volunteer, those who are interested in volunteering (who perhaps do
  15. You may have seen coverage in the local and national press recently about the cancellation of the regular monthly Naturist swim in Alton, Hampshire. As you would expect, BN is working to support our local members and other swimmers who have been affected by this misguided action. The Naturist swim in Alton ran successfully for over thirty years, regularly attracting swimmers from across the South of England on a Sunday evening. Unlike many Naturist swims, it was operated by the local leisur
  16. About 40 BN Members gathered in El Portús for the Autumn Group holiday - organised by Chalfont Holidays - our second trip to this popular Spanish resort this year. Many guests opted to arrive earlier or stay later than the ‘official’ seven day group holiday. It really was ‘fun in the sun’ as the temperatures stayed high every day.  Gentle ‘detox’ music could be heard on the terrace as the few early risers attended a wake up stretch with the backdrop of the sunrise glowing red on the coasta

  22. New Year, new you? BN runs three group fitness sessions each week. Class leader Roy says: 'Come and start your fitness journey at your pace and in the comfort and privacy of your own home. No travel to the gym and the freedom to participate naked! The benefits are not only physical but have been shown to have  a positive effect upon mental health too. Over the years we have been delivering the classes the feedback has been incredible; 'amazing', 'life changing', 'inspirational', 'confi
  23. A mainstay of the online sessions has been our Naked Fitness classes, available to members and non-members alike. They're still popular and include sessions of different types of yoga, group fitness training, meditation and even ballet. They all provide an excellent way to keep fit and healthy without leaving the house. Member Jooles runs three sessions of 'GroovX' - a special kind of fitness to music and (drum roll, please!) has just added 'Mat Pilates' (pictured) on a Sunday evening.
  24. BN's huge programme of online events began during lockdown to give members a way to continue being part of the community and meet - if virtually - others. It was an instant hit with sessions full of people, including many who joined in from around the world. When lockdown ended we saw no reason not to carry them on and so over four years later we can all attend 'events' from the comfort of wherever we happen to be - and not have to worry about what to wear! Our popular Coffee Morning t
