...and the sun shone all day. We all love the activities and our happy community, but, boy, good weather makes it even better! And the site is bathed in sunlight as I write this too!
That community spirit was exemplified again yesterday with groups of naked people trying their hand at willow crafting, relaxing in the sun listening to live music from Bud Martin (a two-hour set), buying drinks in the bar, taking advantage of the many food stalls, pushing themselves in the group fitness session, catching up with friends (and making new ones), and enjoying competing at various sports and games. The pop quiz was as popular—and raucous—as ever and in the evening we spent close on three hours, letting our hair down with Piano Jam who played hits from everything from Billy Joel to The Killers. If you are reading this and have never danced naked and barefoot on the grass amongst an enthusiastic crowd of friends, then add it to your bucket list!
The tempo goes up a notch today. We expect an influx of new guests who will choose activities from yoga and 'gong bath' meditation, crafts, bubble workshop, Bud Martin's talk 'In Search of Aliens', a external visit (clothed on the journey, nude at the venue) to the Cider Brandy Farm - we are in Somerset, after all - more sports and games, sauna and massage, acoustic afternoon Balkan folk music from Razzomo, and karaoke.
The Magic Teapot are now here and we're looking forward to great music and cups of tea. Tonight we welcome comedians off the telly followed by a late-night silent disco. Representatives from our charity partner British Heart Foundation will be setting up an information stall and giving CPR training. If that was not enough, ITVs Lorraine show (not the good lady herself) are coming to film some short clips in advance of our live appearance on the show tomorrow morning.
Phew! Having fun can be exhausting!
