Jupiter Artland - a hidden gem

Despite the unsettled forecast for our 3rd annual trip to Jupiter Artland on the outskirts of Edinburgh, last Saturday 36 of us spent a lovely two hours in the warm sun touring the gardens and the various sculptures and artworks. For most of us, it was our first time here, writes Billy Ritchie.

Jupiter Artland is set in the grounds of a private house and enjoys various permanent sculptures and numerous artworks that are commissioned by artists annually. Partly set in woodland it is complemented with large open areas sporting small green hills with paths that spiral up and down them nestled by water features. It is truly a hidden gem

I think the comment we received from one of our first-time visitors sums it up: 'It was almost mystical walking about and stumbling upon random art works around each corner. Having never been before it did feel like a journey of discovery.'

Our picture shows some of the guests and the sculpture I Lay Here For You by Tracy Emin.
