Hello everybody, thank you for your interest in the above event.
First of all I must stress that this is NOT a naturist only event. Andy as the organiser belongs to a number of swim groups and this is the first of what we hope may be many clothing option swim events.
Andy says "I regularly swim naked with other costumed swimmers so I am promoting the event as “naturist friendly “. I have no idea what the ratio will be, all I ask is, providing each group either costumed or naked, accept and respect each other there is no reason why we can’t all get along together and have a lot of fun. If you do not agree with that statement this event is not for you!"
So, to the event. It will be held on Saturday 12th April between 12.00 and 2.00 pm. At Barefoot and Bower Wild Swimming, Judges Lane May Hill GL17 0NN. It is about 10 miles north of Gloucester towards Ross on Wye a couple of miles off the A40. The postcode is actually the Glasshouse Inn. From there, with the pub on your right, the road bears to the left,100 yards turn right into Judges Lane. About three quarters of a mile look for the big wood carving of a bear. On entering and exiting the site please ensure the gate is closed behind you. Follow the track for about 1 kilometre deep into ancient woodland and follow the sign to the car park.
Please note, there are NO facilities on site, so no toilets, but there’s plenty of trees and bushes!! Please bring with you something to eat and drink and perhaps share for the picnic. It’s probably a good idea to wear beach shoes or old trainers to protect your feet. Also something to sit on.
Just a couple of requests, please take any rubbish home with you. To protect wildlife and the bank please enter and exit the lake via the wooden jetty and steps.
Lastly, nearly forgot!, the cost is £10 per head, payable on the day ( cash only please). Sorry, but no under 18s.
I think that covers everything, but if you have any more questions please get in touch. Looking forward to meeting you all and having a great day, just pray for good weather.
