SUMMARY:Lake District Walk from Mungrisdale

DESCRIPTION:\n	By special request we are repeating the walk that we did
on World Naked Hiking Day.\n\n\n\n	(Assuming the weather forecast is corre
ct(!))\n\n\n\n	The walk will start from the hamlet of Mungrisdale (near Pe
	nrith\, CA11 0XR). We will climb Souther Fell\, then descend to a bridge a
cross the River Glenderamackin then up to the summit of Bannerdale Crags.
Then we walk to the summit of Bowscale Fell.\n\n\n\n	From Bowscale Fell we
can either descend directly to Mungrisdale or descend via Bowscale Tarn.\
n\n\n\n	The walk will be between 8 and 9 miles (13 to 15 km) with about 2\
,200 feet of ascent (665 metres). I estimate it would take about 5 hours w
alking plus about an hour for stops eg lunch.\n\n\n\n	The walk is on typic
al Lake District terrain\, with a bit of road walking\, grassy paths\, som
	e stony\, rocky paths\, and potentially boggy areas.\n\n\n\n	Please bear i
n mind that this is quite a challenging walk if you're not used to walking
in the area\, with significant climbs and descents. In the past people ha
ve turned back on similar walks due to the amount of climbing or the rough
terrain!\n\n\n\n	Lake District weather is very changeable and what might
look like a nice warm day at the start could be very different on the summ
its. Although we hope to walk naked for some of the walk you should bring
warm and waterproof clothing\, and suitable footwear (unless you are a bar
e footer).\n\n\n\n	If you have any questions or would like to register ema
	il david.butterfield@bn.org.uk\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n
