DESCRIPTION:\n\n	Eastbourne Swims annual beach day - 11 a.m. to 4 pm.\n\
n\n\n	The beach is found at BN24 6PR - OS grid ref. TQ 6832 0524 where the
shingle bank obscures the beach from the railway. See https://www.thebea
	chguide.co.uk/south-east-england/east-sussex/normans-bay.htm\n\n\n\n	\n\n\
n\n	NormansBay.doc\n\n\n\n	This event is part of Eastbourne Naturist weeke
nd\n\n\n\n	BN and Eastbourne Naturist Swim Club are pleased to announce a
	weekend of clothes-optional activities.\n\n\n\n	Saturday August 11th\, 6-8
pm\n\n\n\n	The Towner Gallery in central Eastbourne has agreed to open its
doors and play host to a clothes-optional gallery visit. The Towner is an
award-winning contemporary art gallery and museum. The state of the ar
t gallery boasts over 1\,000 square metres of display space – the larg
est in South East England. It presents major exhibitions of UK and interna
tional contemporary art – and also has a renowned collection of ar
t from across the ages. The new building opened in 2009 and includes shop
\, café and activity spaces and was designed to be accessible to peopl
e with special access needs. Broadcaster David Dimbleby is the chair of t
he gallery's board of trustees. Tickets available now from the BN shop.\n\
n\n\n	Sunday August 12th\n\n\n\n	Beach day at Norman’s Bay. This beach a
t the western end of Bexhill is a quiet\, but easily accessible beach bein
g 100 yards from the level crossing at Herbrand Walk\, Cooden along the be
ach at TQ690058 (OS Landranger map 199). It has been used as a Naturist be
ach for more than 30 years. Cooden station on the Brighton-Hastings line h
as a regular service. The beach is about a mile from the station. Car park
ing near the beach can be a problem. The beach is pebbles at the top\, wit
h shingle and sand at low tide. At very low tide there is a large expanse
of sand\, too flat to allow swimming. Because of the flat countryside it c
an get rather windy so best to bring wind-breaks. There are no dunes.\n\n\
n\n	By the way this is not the place that the Normans invaded in 1066 –
it was underwater at the time!\n\n\n\n	Also in the planning….a Naturist
walk on Friday morning and a lunchtime picnic on Saturday.\n\n\n\n	Eastbou
rne Naturist Swim Club\n\n\n\n	…was founded 38 years ago and has swum ea
ch season at the Motcombe Swimming Baths in Old Town\, Eastbourne. Geoff T
agliaferro is still the chairman after all these years. Last year he commi
ssioned an internet presence for the club and we have attracted many visit
ors as a result\, so the club is healthy and thriving. We organised two be
ach days last year and started nude yoga nearly a year ago. In April we ha
d our first clothes optional lunch. We join our Naturist friends Stark Tre
kkers for monthly walks and attend BN events such as the High Beeches visi
	t. Otherwise we can be found relaxing at Birling Gap\, Normans Bay or Fair
	light Cove improving our tans.\n\n
