Sauna and Spa Sessions on the first and third Sundays of the month at Aqua Springs, Leisure World, Colchester.
The Naturist Spa Club which has operated at the Mediterranean village themed Aqua Springs spa facility in Colchester for an amazing 28 years is enjoyed by members who prefer to use a sauna and spa facility in the natural naked state.
The Spa is a wonderful place to relax...unwind...chill with friends...and reinvigorate the body. It offers a whole range of Spa facilities including:
- Two Saunas to unwind and relax the body and experience the sensation of clean, fresh skin. A wonderful detox. A very different experience as a Naturist. A good place to chat to other Naturists or simply soak up the heat. The larger Sauna can hold 20 people on two hardwood bench levels that have recently been refurbished to a high standard. The hotter Sauna holds 10 people.
- A Main Jacuzzi Pool with hundreds of fine water jets to ease away muscle tension, easily holding 20 people.
- A Steam Room combining high temperature and 100% humidity, increasing blood circulation and relaxing tense muscles. Holding 18 people comfortably.
- A Salt Inhalation Room similar to the Steam Room but with a 'softer' heat for alleviating respiratory and sinus problems, hydrating and smoothing the skin. Holding at least 20 people.
- Hydrotherapy Spa Pools, the jets of combined air and water relieving and soothing aches and pains. One pool has a 'volcano' effect jet of water, perfect for developing your balance lying over the top!
- Cool Pool and Ice Cold Plunge Pool. Revitalise after a Sauna in the Cool Pool and swim a few strokes to revitalise. There is nothing like swimming naked! Or take a quick dip in the Ice Cold Pool, boosting the cardiovascular system and sealing the pores after the Sauna.
- Monsoon Shower and Water Bucket Challenge! Alternate hot and cold water in a wraparound shower after using the Sauna or Steam Rooms. Or dare yourself with the Water Bucket Challenge to invigorate your body.
- Aromatherapy Room, less intense in temperature and humidity with a calming sensation brought about by the essential oils in the air. Fully tiled and heated benches make this a great place to chat with friends.
- Lounge Area. In a quiet area near the Coffee Shop seating area with relaxing sun loungers for a calming rest, to enjoy a magazine, or even to have a snooze!
- Coffee Shop, open until 8pm with seating around the Main Jacuzzi Pool. Stocking a large selection of drinks, sandwiches, cakes and snacks to add to your restful experience at the Spa.
- Changing Rooms. Naturists can use two large unisex changing areas with showers in both.

Private Naturist Spa Club sessions for members are run on the first and third Sundays of the month between 6.15pm and 8.45pm at Aqua Springs (Leisure World Colchester), Cowdray Avenue, Colchester, Essex CO1 1YH.
Potential new members are always welcome, and those interested should initially contact the membership secretary at naturistspaclubcolchester@gmail.com to arrange a first visit to see what it's all about. We aim to run a happy and balanced club for our members with the emphasis on enjoyment and ease. Just bring a towel for the shower; a thinner travel type towel to sit on in the Saunas and Steam Rooms, and also in the lounge areas; and a water bottle to hydrate after the Sauna. Please note that these sessions are not clothes optional. Natural nakedness is expected throughout.
The Centre charges £18 per person for the Spa Sessions (or £17.50 for holders of a Leisure World card which can be obtained free from the Centre or online). Fees are set by Colchester City Council, who operate Aqua Springs, and not by the Club.
