Blackthorns Sun Club has been on its present site near Sharnbrook, just north of Bedford, since 1969.
It is set in 6.5 hectares of semi-ancient woodland which is a haven to wildlife as well as naturists!
There are dragon flies and woodpeckers in flight and deer in the undergrowth.
The spring carpet of flowers is a delight and the bluebells are our favourites.
From the early signs of leaf buds to the full greenery of the summer and the wondrous shades of autumn right through to the winter scenes; Pippin Wood is a beautiful place to be.
The seclusion allows for total relaxation from the stress of everyday life and the facilities allow for as much activity or rest as you choose.
There are lawns and woodland clearings to laze in the sunshine as well as a swimming pool and miniten, petanque, badminton and volleyball courts for the more energetic.
A crazy-golf course is fun for all ages.
We have sporting events throughout the year to cater for the serious competitor as well as just for fun.
The pavilion is the social hub of the club. housing casual get togethers over mugs of tea, bingo and quizzes, to dinner-dances, live musicians and discos.
The surrounding patio is a sun trap in the day and then an eating area for the large communal bar-b-que in the evening.
We have a static caravan for hire and space for visitors to bring their touring caravans or tents.
The highlight of our year is “Holiday Week” at the beginning of August when there are activities arranged from morning to night.
It is always a fun packed week of games and sports with the main intention being “eat, drink and be merry!”
