A half mile stretch of beach between Milford on Sea and Barton on Sea.
A Pay and Display Car Park (Credit Card or Ringo APP) can be accessed from B3058 Milford Road between Milford on Sea and Barton on Sea. See Google Maps or SatNav SO41 0LJ. Although display signs say there is no access to the beach, access is possible with caution necessary at times. This is because the whole coastline suffers from extensive erosion causing the cliffs to be unstable especially after stormy or very wet weather.
There is a narrow footpath from the car park to the coast. On reaching the coast path, walk straight ahead and beach access is possible usually by proceeding diagonally left and gradually making your way down onto the beach(See photos attached). Depending on the state of erosion and the amount of rain this can be difficult and requires sure footing, a good pair of walking shoes with good grips are advisable. Once on the beach the naturist area is found by walking to the right (west) until you find a suitable spot. The cliff top coastal path does overlook some of the beach but private spots can be found. The beach is shingle (beach shoes advisable) and turns into a mixture of fine shingle and sand as you enter the sea. The beach shelves very gently with mainly sand and the odd rock below the water. Taddiford never gets too busy and is at its best at low tide with more sand to be enjoyed. The cliff backdrop may not be the most attractive but the view out to sea to the Isle of Wight and the Needles is wonderful. There are no facilities at or near the beach so make sure you bring everything you need.
Access is also possible by walking east along the sea front from Barton on Sea either by taking the path down from beside the Beachcomber Cafe on Marine Drive BH25 7DT and then walking east around two headlands to Taddiford beach. Both headlands are rocky and require sure footing. The alternative is to walk from Marine Drive East across the cliff Top to a path down to the beach beside the golf course at Becton Bunny, What Three words = (satellite.nicely.projects) it’s then only a short walk east around the headland to Taddiford.
For those who enjoy walking you can walk west from Milford-on-Sea, Hordle Cliff Car Park Post code SO41 0NE.There are toilets and a small take away food and drink kiosk at this location. The cliff top walk takes around 30 minutes.
