Calshot Beach is a Private Beach. Unfortunately the owners Cadland Estate are now insisting they will enforce a ban on all nudity on the beach.
Calshot Beach is approximately 12 miles south of Junction 2 of the M27 via the A326 and B3053 which will take you to a pay and display car park, SatNav SO45 1BR.
Facility wise, toilets are located by the car park and refreshments can be purchased at the Bluebird Cafe. Once on the beach turn right and keep walking south west past the beach huts for about 10 minutes until you find a suitable spot or discover other naturists. This part of the beach is rarely very busy. The beach is mainly pebbles and shingle (beach shoes recommended) and is divided by wooden groynes which provide a good degree of privacy when sunbathing. A large Groyne/breakwater marks the end of the beach beyond which is a nature reserve and SSSI protected for breeding birds.
The view from the beach across Southampton water to Cowes and the IOW is fabulous. If you like maritime activity and bird watching this is a great spot. At low tide access is easy with plenty of beach. At high tide access is more limited and the usable area between the groins is greatly reduced (see photos) The owners of the Cadland Estate which forms the backdrop to the beach are very anti naturists so discretion is advised.
